Alcatel 3V Phone Review

I received a phone from Alcatel for the sole purpose of this review
Review written by my co-writer, Stacy!

Alcatel specializes in cell phones. You can buy phones for your specific carrier, or you can get unlocked phones. I received the Alcatel 3V unlocked phone.

I gave this phone to my kids to use and abuse for 6 weeks and it did not disappoint! It was dropped on day one and the included simple screen protector saved the screen. By dropped I mean it went flying out of my car onto the pavement and was fine, I was in shock. I finally took that protector off a few days ago and the phone looks great.

The battery life is decent, not better or worse than my iPhone 6 Plus, and they are about the same size. It charges with a micro usb but I’m not sure what pin version it is, so some of my universal chargers just fall out. I suggest not losing the one it comes with since that gave the best charge. I asked my kids if they had any complaints and they said they loved it other than the brightness was always going up and down. It was user error and I haven’t had a single issue and I’ve been using it as my personal phone for 2 weeks because my iPhone gave out.

The phone came with a plastic clear clip on case. I made the kids use it, but now that I am using it I have a pop socket on the actual phone so I cant. The phones volume is my only personal complaint. The speaker and ear piece to not get as loud as I prefer but its decent. People seem to have a harder time hearing me when I use speaker.

The kids used the phone almost exclusively for gaming and calling me at work and they were happy with how it handles for games. For some reason they never answered when I called from work, but that's not the phones fault ;).

They did lose it for a couple weeks but thank goodness I finally found it in a hole in the couch, they didn’t tell me it was lost so by the time I tried calling it, it was dead.

Now to the camera, as a mom the camera is a big deal to me! The kids took a million selfies that I won’t torture you with, but here are a few pictures that I have on it so you can see quality. As far as Apple vs Android based phones, I have been a die hard apple fan for ease of use. This phone however has really made the transition easy for me. The apps are very easy to download and find unlike the ZTE I used to have.

The best BEST part about this phone is that it comes ready to use on almost any carrier. I activated and tested it on: T-mobile/Metro PCS, and AT&T/Tracfone. It would not activate on a Verizon sim.

Price: $149.99 from Best Buy, Walmart or Amazon!

Overall: **** and I don’t think you will be disappointed. Highly recommend if you are not wanting to put a phone on a payment plan with a carrier, and great starter phone for pre-teens!
*Disclaimer* I received an item directly from Alcatel  in exchange for a review. I was not paid to try out these products*
A big thank you goes out to Alcatel for allowing me to review this product
