They aren't fun.
I've recently just had my 2nd one. My first was when I was pregnant with my daughter almost 8 years ago (I've had 2 pregnancies since then, so have been fortunate).
But this one was relentless and would not go away. I tried over the counter creams and it would clear up, and then come right back. So I figured I'd stick with my 3 most favorite natural ingredients in my house, ones I KNOW have antibacterial and antifungal properties. Wanted to give it a try and what do you know, after just 2 treatments the infection was gone for good, and hasn't come back!
INGREDIENTS:
1 teaspoon Extra Virgin Coconut Oil
5-6 drops Tea Tree Oil
5-6 drops Lavender Oil
These are just the brands I used, there are a million brands to choose from!
DIRECTIONS:
Grab 1tsp coconut oil and put into a small container, add your drops of oils and stir it around. Make sure all oil is on your spoon for easier removal later. Place in the fridge or freezer for a couple minutes until it hardens again.
Then VERY QUICKLY, pull it out of the fridge/freezer, scoop the mixture off the spoon and place inside the vagina. It will be cold and will feel amazing and cure the itch almost immediately. Use a cloth pad (these oils are unlikely to stain) or toilet paper to absorb the oil that will leak out for the next couple of hours.
Here's how it looks when solid
I did it once mid afternoon and again before bed and by the time I woke up I was itch free and the infection was totally gone! I then did one more treatment in the morning just to ensure it was gone.
So if you're a frequent sufferer, bookmark this for the next time you have an infection!! All of these ingredients are easy to find and easily accessible.

This post would have defiantly helped me a few weeks ago when I again, had a horrible yeast infection. I have to go to the local clinic to get some pills to take that takes at least week to go away. Sucks. Will keep this in mind as I am prone to them for some odd reason. Will go to my local healthfood store to pick some of this up. Thank you.

Every time I have to go on an antibiotic I get one, and then just for the fun of it sometimes. Funny that the entire time I was pregnant I didn't have one, which is the opposite of what I thought would happen since I'm already prone to them! I'd love to try this next time instead of getting a pill. Thanks!

It is used as a vaginal suppository. You insert into the vagina for the relief.

I am currently dealing with an infection. Not itchy or irritated, but my PAP last week came up positive for yeast, and I have been a bit dischargie for a while. I figured the discharge was just because I am currently pregnant. I didn't even know I had a yeast infection, I don't think I have had one before, but then again maybe I had and just didn't know?
Anywho, gave it a go (oils) last night and will be doing it again tonight. Night time is easier for me and I like the idea of letting it concentrate on the yeast over night. It also smells amazing! I feel like I have never been so fresh smelling in my life!
I will post back later with my results :) I have to say I am quite happy with this idea of this treatment and like it better then most any other treatment method I have read about.

It does not need to be Extra Virgin Coconut Oil, but that is the highest quality.

I tried this over night and I didn't wake up with an itch but when I went to do the next dose I had a lot of discharge ...is that normal? Just want to make sure I'm not making things worse.

Hi yeasty friends! A question: How LONG should I be using these suppositories in my nether regions to make sure I've eliminated the bread monster forever? I thought a treatment every night at bedtime for five nights? I'm guessing here...
Tonight would be night three. First treatment eliminated all but a scant
10ish% of the infection. By the next evening, a hint of itchiness returned. As I type this I'm getting ready for bed again, and dare I say - there might be the faintest hint of itchiness AGAIN?!! Say it aint so!
Lots of great advice out there, but I'm wondering about duration and frequency of these natural remedies.

Daina,
I usually do 3 days. But play it by feel. If all symptoms appear to be gone, do it for 1-2 more treatments just to make sure. For some this may be 2 days, for some this may be 5. But it does work, so wait it out!

Dear blogger mommy, thank you for posting this recipe, it helps. BUT: if you tried it out on yourself, you will know -like me- how the burning hell's angels sing. 6 drops of essential oils is way too much for a teaspoon of anything.

The yeast can be passed back and forth with your partner. Men often have no symptoms.
