I received tickets from Silver Dollar City for the sole purpose of this review
Theme Parks are usually something that almost everybody can enjoy. Silver Dollar City is one of these places. It is set up really neat once you get inside. A lot of old fashioned things from the way they are dressed to the shops that are featured. They have a bunch of cute little shops as well as roller coasters for the thrill seekers to enjoy.
Outlaw Run is their newest wooden roller coaster.
I just love the sign.
Hubby said that Outlaw Run was the best wooden roller coaster he's ever ridden! Said it was very smooth and didn't even feel like a wooden coaster.
Even though I'm not a thrill seeker, I was still able to enjoy Silver Dollar City. The food was great, the bakery was great and the shops were pretty awesome. Everything was old looking and was just fun to explore.
Although being in the mountains it was a pretty 'hilly' area. To leave you have to walk up this HUGE hill and that in itself was a workout. But at least we got exercise in that day ;)
I was a little disappointed with the kid section though. Every ride required children be 36" tall. My 2.5 year old is short around 33", there were 2 rides he could do and he did have fun, but I wish he could've done more since he was strapped in a stroller for like 5 hours before that. And the roller coasters are almost all 48". My daughter is like 46.5" so she also couldn't ride anything outside of the kid section!
We still all had fun though. And my daughter and I did The Lost River of the Ozarks which was a blast!

Ticket Prices: $59 for adults, $49 for 4-11 and under 4 is free.
Overall: **** Not really for young children.

This place looks like so much fun, and I would love to take my family there. Your husband did good on the roller coaster. Maybe next time your son will get to ride on more rides!
