Emerson never really ate purees very much. He hated them off a spoon, but when he finally learned how to suck (around 8-9 months) we started using the pouch food. It was a great, easy way to get more fruits and veggies in his system, but still make him feel like a toddler and not so much like a baby. He's very independent and these were great for him.
But since we were buying organic and they are about $1-$1.50 each it was getting pricey. We were giving him 1-2 a day. It just became too much. So I started looking around for reusable pouches and came across Little Green Pouch. They come in a pack of 4 and you can fill them on your own for a more cost effective way of feeding your baby!
They have a zipper on the top of the pouch. You open it up, fill it with food and then seal it. Now baby can eat the pouch like normal out of the spout.
I had some baby food jars to use up still and he wouldn't just eat them off a spoon, so I decided to use them up by putting them in these pouches and then he'd slurp them right down like nobody's business. It was a great way to use up some food I already had.
But even better was that I could puree my own food and give it to him like this.
I did make some of my own baby food for him in the past, but he refused to eat it from a spoon... so this is perfect for us. I can mash up bananas or put some applesauce in here for him and he'll just slurp it down.
It really did solve a dilemma for us and allows him to get more healthy nutrients.
Here he is just slurping away at some Pear Avocado.
They are freezer safe, top rack dishwasher safe and can also go in the fridge.
I have also used up some of the last of my freezer baby food I had made as well. I put my cubes in the pouch and then put in the fridge for about 1 day until they thawed. Worked out perfectly.
We love these pouches and use them pretty frequently. They have become a staple in our house and I know I'll use them for a couple years probably.
I also like that the spout is a decent size so small chunks can come out no problem.
Price: $14.99 for 4 of them!! Once you use them 15 times you've made up for the price of the store ones.
Overall: *****
*Disclaimer* I received an item directly from Little Green Pouch in exchange for a review. I was not paid to try out these products*
A big thank you goes out to Little Green Pouch for allowing me to review this product and for offering a giveaway

It is easier to carry food in a pouch than to carry it in a jar with a plastic bag and a spoon :)

I love giving my little one organic foods, but the organic pouches are so dang expensive! I'd love to be able to make my own purees in pouches for her- especially since she loves them for snacks and trips.

My daughter will eat anything that comes in a pouch, but I hate spending money on the store ones! I do like making my own baby food, so reusable pouches are perfect.

My son loved the pouches, they are so expensive. It would be nice to be able to fill them myself with any baby food/ homemade baby food for my daughter.

I make my daughters food, but when we are out pouches are just easier. My daughter loves them (finishes them in about 5 seconds and then begs for more), but they are expensive. Reusable ones would make transporting her homemade food easier and would be less expensive than buying pouches.
