Door to Door Organics Review & Discount Code

I don't know about all of you, but I go to the grocery store often. I do my big trips every 2 weeks, but then I do little trips every week, usually for weekly stuff like yogurt, bread, and produce.

I really wanted to try and cut out those little trips as much as possible. So we entertained the idea of  Door to Door Organics. Each week you choose which produce you want and they deliver it right to your door. 2 days after delivery they charge your card and you have your produce for the week.

I figured it wouldn't hurt to contact them first. So I did and they agreed to let me review a month of service of the Bitty Box.
This was just my first week
They included a few extra items this time.

Technically for our family, we would need the small box (which is probably equivalent to what I received above since they threw in 4-5 extra pieces).

I found that the foods they sent weren't the freshest. They were all okay, but they expired pretty quickly. I found that by the end of the week the foods that weren't eaten were bad. The bananas lasted the same amount of time, so did the potatoes and the pears. But the kiwi, avocado and tomatoes expired pretty fast.

I was able to use this box and we had BLT's for lunch 2 days in a row with the tomatoes and lettuce I received, so those got used up. Avery eats a banana every morning for breakfast so those were gone. And she takes an apple every day for her snack as well.

I love that you can swap out items on your order page though. A few days before delivery you can go on there. They already decide what you're getting, but you can edit that info and select what you want to receive instead.

You can also go in there and set a list of items you don't like and don't want to ever receive which is nice.

Now the price: The Bitty box is $23 a week. What I received above is probably a small box which is $33. You can also choose to do just fruit OR just veggies or the mixed like I did above. The Medium is $39 and the large is $55.

Bitty is meant for a couple
Small is meant for couple with 1 small child
Medium is best for veggie and fruit lovers of 4 or more
and the Large is for vegetarians or large families.

I don't think it's really worth it. Look at what I received above...
2 bananas, 3 apples, 3 tomatoes, 1 head lettuce, 1 bunch of celery, 3 kiwi, 1 avocado, 1lb bag carrots, 3 pears and 2 potatoes. That is NOT worth $33 in my opinion...

Overall: **** I'll go with a 4. The food spoiled a bit quicker then I'd like it too and it is a bit expensive, BUT it's delivered right to your door, so that is good.

DISCOUNT CODE:
If you live in MI or in the Chicago area then you can use the code BLOGGER for $10 off your first box!!!!
*Disclaimer* I received an item directly from Door to Doorin exchange for a review. I was not paid to try out these products*
