Litter Robot Review

This is probably one of my favorite things I've reviewed thus far.

We got a cat on Father's Day, we rescued him from the Humane Society. Well cleaning a litter box is a pain in the butt, especially when nobody feels like doing it, then it piles up higher and higher and gets even stinkier. When I came across  the Litter-Robot I knew I had to contact them about doing a review for their automatic litter box. I was very lucky that they said yes, but they said I had to wait until September to get it!! September couldn't come fast enough!!

I was so happy to open this up!
Looks daunting, but it's really not.

The tray is a drawer and you put a bag in it. The bag goes into the side of the drawer and it holds it in place.
The buttons to control it and the drawer. The drawer is where the waste is collected, but it's also a sensor, so when a cat steps on it, it sets a timer and then cleans.

You can hit the cycle button to clean it, or fill to fill it with litter or empty which empties all contents.
It is a pretty big litter box. It just goes on top of the base and it rotates around and cleans.
This thing is pretty amazing.

The hardest part was getting our cat to use it. By the time the litter box came in, we had Phoenix for almost 3 months already so he was used to our basic box.

We turned it off so it didn't clean and scare him but he still would not use it. He was going in the house and wouldn't use EITHER box, so we had to come up with something. On the website it recommends putting a box around it to get them to go in it (what cat doesn't like a box??) Well by gone it! It worked!! He started using it. It took a couple weeks though from the time we got it until he was using it, but he finally was and it was working.

So we had the box on there and he used it. After a couple days we'd turn it on and run a clean cycle. Then we started doing it daily and then took the box off and kept it at once a day. And then finally we were able to turn on the box and let it clean itself.

We got a second cat a few weeks ago and she started using it right away (THANK GOODNESS) so we have 2 cats using this and my house doesn't stink AT ALL!!

They get on the step and it activates the sensor (which is adjustable from most sensitive to least sensitive) after 7 minutes of it being activated it cleans.

The tray takes 8 or 13 gallon trash bags. 8 gallon didn't work for us though so we use 13 gallon. And they also sell their own bags too.

It is very cool how it works and I love that the house doesn't smell.
One issue we had with it though... if the tray gets too heavy it activates the sensor and if the sensor is activated for 2+ minutes it won't clean and it flashes at you. So as long as you keep the tray semi clean then this won't happen.

Overall though it's a great litter box and I'm so thankful that I've had the opportunity to review it!

Price: I got the bubble which is $359.99. But it is SO worth it!

Overall: ***** it works awesomely and my cats like it. So do I because there's no stink!
