My mother used to use Mary Kay. I have never tried any of their items though, so when my good friend Lori contacted me to do a review I jumped at the chance. I've already reviewed her bows from her bow business. So I was very excited to get to try these items. 

She loaded me up with goodies!

A bag full of stuff, with a nice letter and catalog!

 Full size Botanical Effects items. The Cleanser for normal skin and the Hydrate for normal skin.

She also included a TON of samples like the Acne Treatment Gel

 TONS of samples of eye shadows, blush, highlighting powder, lip glosses and sticks, and eye liners! Plus a Satin Hands lotion.

Where to start!! So many wonderful things. 

The cleanser is truly wonderful. It has a great lather and washes everything clean. It gets rid of face makeup easily. It also has a nice gentle smell to it. It's not overpowering and too perfumey at all. 

The Hydrate is really great as well. My face is typically normal, but it can get dry at times, like right now. This hydrate gets rid of the dry spots and keeps them away. It's really gentle on my face. Sometimes my face reacts badly to products, but not with these. 

I also like that the Botanical Effects have no synthetic dyes or added fragrance. They also have the antioxidant powers of  frangipani flower and water lily!

The acne treatment gel is great too. I have one of those weird skins, it's normal to dry, but I break out bad. It doesn't really make sense. I put it on any flare ups I have at night and usually by morning they are significantly reduced in size and redness. It usually takes 2 applications to get the acne to completely go away though.

The eye shadows are wonderful, they don't crease in the eye and they last all day with no issues. 

I haven't tried the lipsticks or glosses yet though. 

The eye liners go on really smooth, but I don't wear liner very often, so these haven't gotten much use, but I love that she sent me a plethora of colors! 

Lori is a great friend of mine and I love that she's selling Mary Kay now. The company has been around for years and years, so they must be doing something right!

Price: too many to list! But the Botanical Effects are $14 for the cleanser and $16 for the hydrate. Reasonable prices for 3 and 4oz items!
