Shasta Daisy Knits Review & Giveaway *CLOSED*

Before this review, I had only knit with cheap Joann's wool (Paton's) or Purewool which is a cheaper option, but a good wool still. 

Well I had the chance to review some wool yarn from Shasta Daisy Knits and let me tell you the quality difference. I was sent 100% Kingfisher Merino Wool and it's so much different then the cheapy stuff, but is still quite reasonable!

I was sent 4oz of colorway in the Deep Water Island color and also 2oz of trim in the beautiful teal color that matches so well.

I have been knitting longies for the winter in NB or Smalls, this would've been enough yarn for those 2 sizes, but I thought this yarn was so beautiful for summer so I did Medium Shorties instead. I hope they won't be too big. Luckily the drawstring will keep them tight and if they are just that huge, I can rip up the end and make them longies. I should have enough left over to do that. I might have to do a teal stripe in the legs somewhere to make the colorway last longer, but I have that option if they're just WAY too big!!

This yarn was really nice to knit with. It was soft on my hands and wasn't rough like some others can be. It was easy to knit with, I think it colored up pretty nicely so it didn't do what they call pooling (where there's big patches of one color). So that was nice. 

The only thing I was a bit disappointed about is that the yarn took the dyes and put a bit of purple in there. I know certain yarns take color differently. I wasn't expecting purple, but I still think it looks really nice, and it's a nice neutral pair as well. I can make them boyish with a shirt, but they could still be worn by a girl, so that's nice!!!

Price: It depends on what kind of wool you want. It's between $17 and $22 for 3.5 ounces of yarn! Which is a great price depending on what you want!
