2016 Mazda MX-5 Miata

I've always reviewed the family vehicles: SUVs, Vans, Luxury cars, but this time I had something different. This time I got to test drive the 2016 Mazda MX-5 Miata, which is a 2 seater, convertible roadster! And I had a blast!

The Miata MX-5 averages 30mpg and has a base price of $24,915. With 27mpg city and 36mpg highway for a sports car this really has great mileage!

Steering wheel mounted controls put everything right at your fingertips

The car is very tiny, and along with that comes smaller features. Like the Screen and the cupholder. There is no room in the center for a cup holder so it goes on the passenger side, and it's removable which is nice.
Also there is no glovebox on the dash, it's between the 2 seats on the back. It's very small, but big enough for the manual and a couple small things.

No dual climate control, but the car is so small trust me, you don't need it!
As with a lot of newer cars the Mazda Miata is Automatic OR Manual. Just put the car in drive and then push the shifter to the left and you can manually switch gears with toggles on the back of the steering wheel.

This picture also shows the radio dial. It also lets you control your apps and nav and such.

Not much leg room. It was VERY tight.
Don't let this little trunk deceive you. I fit a weeks worth of groceries for 5 in there completely!!!! It IS small (only fitting about 3 bags on the very bottom) but it's pretty deep!

I want to say. I'm 5'6" and very average and at first I definitely felt claustrophobic in this car it is VERY tight. The car is only about 4 feet wide and my head was just inches from the room, very tight quarters. But after a while I got used to it and really enjoyed driving this little roadster. My husband is 5'9" and above average and it was very tight he wasn't comfortable in the car at all.

This would be a great little car for a weekend car, quick errands around town. I don't think it would be a good everyday car. But I do love it and wish I could afford a weekend car because it would be mine!

Putting the convertible top back is super easy. There's a clip inside, unclip it and push the top back until it clicks. Easy to do from inside the car and out.
Same with putting it back, there's a clip at the back of the car and then a handle under the top to just push it back in place.

The 2016 Mazda MX-5 Miata features; Dual Front Airbags, Side Impact Airbags, Side Impact Door Beams, Automatic Climate Control (on the Grand Touring, which is what I drove), Power Windows, 6 Speaker Sound System and more.

I had the Grand Touring which has a base price of $31,270. It has a few upgrades like the automatic climate control instead of manual and the navigation, etc.

Overall I would recommend this car for a smaller person. My husbands 6'6" friend could NEVER fit in this car. Other than that it was a good little car and I quite enjoyed it.

*Disclaimer, I received a Mazda MX-5 Miata for a 1 week test drive. All opinions here are 100% my own and I was not compensated to write this post, other than receiving the vehicle.

Did we ever think that it would be possible to get online repair manuals of Mazda and people will go for it? Well now it is a pretty normal issue that people go for online car manuals since it saves a lot of money.
