Clothes and ALMOST 19 weeks

I have really been in the crafting mood lately when it comes to clothes and knitting!! I'm glad that I can do this and take one square piece of fabric and make something out of it. I love the gratification!

So here are some shirts I've made Avery in the past couple weeks.
These first 2, I hemmed them first and I was supposed to use elastic thread to shirr them along the neck and sleeves, but it didn't work. I ended up needing to encase elastic and so it made them a bit smaller then I thought since they were hemmed and then encased!

Still couldn't find the good shirring elastic thread SO I bought 1/8" elastic and just sewed it into these. They're a bit bigger, but still fit!! Super cute and I love them.
The pattern I bought is also good for dresses so I'm going to make her 2 dresses this week. They'll be great for fall with some leggings and possibly with a white long sleeve shirt under them! One of them is a really fall looking material too!

I also got a ton of baby pants cut out of t-shirts. I bought the elastic needed for them today, so I'm going to encase those and have some more pants for baby done!
We find out the gender on WEDNESDAY!! I will share it here as I will be doing reviews later on that reveal gender anyway!

Sweet Bottoms Baby Review & Giveaway

I love that their Slogan is "Where 'green' comes naturally"  That's awesome!!! We're on this green kick. We're really trying to change things on a monthly basis if we can. I'm trying to adapt a new green thing every month. It's kind of hard but I think we've been pretty successful since switching to cloth diapers in May 2009. It's been 2 years now and I'd say we've changed to 'green' probably a good 18 items or so.

Sweet Bottoms Baby really has everything green you could think of. Everything in their store is all natural and that's what's awesome!

I received a lovely product I'd heard about time and time again but had never tried. It's the CJs All Natural Creamy Body Lotion. I of course got it in the Monkey Farts scent and it's just great.

The lotion is all natural and is
Made from scratch, this lotion is like nothing you’ve ever tried! Soothes even the most chapped hands and dry skin! In order to increase the shelf life of this product, we add a paraben-FREE synthetic preservative. You’ve got to try this custom scented, creamy goodness!
Comes in 8oz bottle with lotion pump.

Sounds good to me!! The Monkey Farts is Banana, Grapefruit, Kiwi, Bubblegum Strawberries and Vanilla. How does that NOT sound good??

Avery loves this lotion too. She likes to put it on after a bath. 2 squirts does her whole body.

Every single time I shave my legs I NEED to put on a lotion within seconds of getting out of the shower in order to prevent razor bumps/burn. I have only found 2 lotions so far that work. Suave Cocoa Butter and Vaseline Intensive Care. This lotion WORKS though. Most of the ones I try make my burn worse. Not CJs. It's been great and keeps my razor burn at bay!! And I only need 1 squirt per leg!! I can do my entire body in about 4-5 squirts.

I will say though that because there's no preservatives in this it kind of separates because of the oils. So just give a good shake before you use it!

Sweet Bottoms Baby also carries Cloth Diapers, Diaper Accessories, Baby toys, Cloth Menstrual pads and Menstrual cups and MORE!!

Price: The CJs lotion is $12 which I think is pretty reasonable. It smells great and it will last a LONG time.

Overall: ***** and then some :)

Mrs. Meyers Review

I love using natural products for the home. Detergent, dish washing cleaner, cleaners in general. It's hard to do this when you can get the regular stuff for free at CVS and Target like I do. But I'm really trying to switch to all natural stuff.

Mrs. Meyers is a great way to do this. The great thing is it's sold in stores too like Target, so it's not an online thing only.

I received a full size Dish Soap in the Rosemary scent. And I also received the 4 other scents in a sample size (although now they have a Honeysuckle scent as well).
I started off using the samples as they would go quick. I started with The basil. It was really good. It smelled like basil, but wasn't overdone. The lather in these soaps is great!! I used the entire sample pack in a load of dishes, but to be honest, one pack would last 2 loads. There were LOTS of bubbles in the sink.
The Lemon Verbena was my favorite out of all of them!! It is a great clean scent and perfect for dishes.
The great thing about these is the scent doesn't stick around once it's rinsed. Which is great because if it did it would mean it wasn't rinsed clean.

Geranium was kind of weird to me. It's a flower and to me it was a bit weird smelling for dish soap. But still cleaned just as well. And the Lavender was great too!

Now I haven't tried the Rosemary yet as I'm using up my old soap, but I can't wait to break into it.
Mrs. Meyers has LOTS of other cleaning products to choose from. She has Glass Cleaner, Countertop Spray, Bathroom Cleaner, Laundry products, Hand ad Body products! Some really great stuff!!

Price: The dish soaps are 16oz and are on sale for $3.19!!! That's a great price and the same as let's say Dawn (if not cheaper) on sale from $3.99. Not bad at all!! Very reasonable. 32oz All Purpose Cleaner is on sale for $6.39 from $7.99. AWESOME again!!
My Target and Kroger sells Mrs. Meyers so that's great.

Overall: *****

Cake Lingerie Review & Giveaway

Vintage Inspired Maternity and Nursing Lingerie for the new generation of mothers.
Sounds good to me!! Cake Lingerie has it.

I was sent a wonderful bra for review to try out. I was sent the Velvet Delight Plunge bra for review in a 34D.

 How it opens
It is a gorgeous bra! I don't really know that it's something I would wear much in the summer as it's lacy and a darker color then I'm used to. But under some tees and tanks it's great! I have worn it a few times already and it's super comfortable!

I think it will be GREAT for winter though under sweaters and cardigans (plus I'll ACTUALLY be nursing then). But so far I really seem to like it.
I wore it 2-3 times and then I washed it in the machine to see how it would hold up. When I pulled it out to hang dry it looked marvelous. Was still in beautiful shape and looked great.

I'm going to try and have a good 4-5 nursing bras in my collection so they don't get over worn and over washed. This way I can wear them for a few days and then switch them out and then wash them and they won't be so bad.

I love all of Cake's bras!

They also have camis, panties, pants and some robes as well!!

Price: The bra I received is originally $59, but is on sale for $44.93 and I think that's a GREAT price! The Cami and Pant set above there, each piece is $54.90. Which is reasonable.

Overall: *****

Ferro Cosmetics Review & Giveaway

I love experimenting with makeup. I never thought I would be, but eye shadows are my weakness. If I can get a good deal I buy some even though I have probably over 100 eye shadows (not really an exaggeration).

Ferro Cosmetics is 100% natural, as more than half of my makeup collection is. And that's a huge plus for me.
They were very generous enough to send me a full size foundation and 3 sample size eye shadows. A sample still has PLENTY of shadow in it.
Some of my favorite colors. Browns and greys/greens.

Here's the 3 shades I got so you can see them better.
Champagne
Ok, I can't find the other 2, but they're called Truffle and Runway!
These are 15 hour shadows. They are good for 15 hours and don't crease. It's true!!!! It's hard to find an eye shadow that doesn't crease, and it's REALLY hard to find one that lasts more than 6 hours that doesn't crease. These are great!!

I wore the runway (greyish/green) to the Randy Travis concert. It was 96 degrees that day at an outdoor concert and it was on a good 9 hours before I took it off and it didn't crease at all. It stuck in there really good!

The foundation was great too. It went on so smooth and didn't get all nasty and wear off by the end of the day.

There are lots of other things on the website to choose from. They have bronzers and brushes and lipstick. Great stuff!

Price: The 15 hour eye shadows are normally $17, but are on sale for $10 right now.

Overall: *****

Flip Flop Wines Review

Before you all get started. I requested these for JON because he's really on a wine kick lately. Although I will admit I TASTED (like an itty bitty sip) them so I could write the review.
And I did it in my 2nd trimester.

Now that that's out of the way... We received 3 bottles of win to try from FlipFlop Wines. I saw these in my store for $5 a bottle not that long ago, but didn't really want to try them in fear they would be bad. They were cheap afterall.

But we got a Pinot Grigio, Pinot Noir and a Riesling

I immediately stuck them in the fridge to chill. We opened them all up that night so we could sample them next to each other.
I sipped the Riesling first. It was very good. Had some fruit notes to it, it was kind of peachy tasting and was very good.
Then I had a sip of the Pinot Grigio it too was good. It was dryer then the riesling but was pretty tasty.
I didn't taste the noir as I HATE red wine.
I've come to realize I only like white wine.
Jon didn't care for it either.

He drank the whole riesling bottle in 3 days!! He was having a glass with dinner and he said that one was his favorite.

At least now I know that when I go to the store again I can get him cheap wine (and me after baby is born) and it's GOOD. Just as good as the $20 bottles we have shipped in!

Price: Like I said, my store was having them on sale 2/$10 for like 2 months!! I think the MSRP is like $7.50 though.

Overall: *****

Chooka Review & Giveaway

To this day I have never owned a pair of rainboots. NEVER. Maybe when I was a toddler, but not since then.

They've always been clunky and not stylish at all. Until I met Chooka boots. They are gorgeous, stylish and definitely ready to be worn whether it's raining or not!!

I received a beautiful pair of Crocodilla boots.

Tell me you don't LOVE these boots? They look like crocodile skin.
They fit me perfectly. They are a size 8 and fit great. They are a bit big around the leg, but with jeans on they would be perfect!!

Of course they aren't made out of crocodile but are made out of Rubber. They also feature a moisture absorbing cotton lining as well. They smelled a bit strong when I opened the package, but I know that will fade with time.
Beaause it's been so hot and it's hardly rained here I haven't had the chance to wear them yet, but I know come fall and spring these will be a MUST in my wardrobe!

My ABSOLUTE favorite pair of boots on their site is a pair of riding boots, otherwise I would've requested those.

They carry other brands as well.
Check these out!

These are not chooka brand. They are Western Chief brand. Both brands are owned by Western Chief

Price: The Chooka Boots I received are $70. The Hello Kitty are $37!

Overall: ***** I love them so far and can't wait to officially wear them!

Milk Nursingwear Review & Giveaway

I've really been drawn to nursing clothes lately. I'm not really sure why as I won't be nursing for at least 5 more months, but I think most of them kind of double as maternity clothes.
Which I like. They can be maternity, before pregnancy and after pregnancy/nursing clothes and they can also be worn LONG after you're done nursing as well, so for the price they're a great versatile piece.

I received a great top from Milk Nursingwear for review. I received the Sleeveless Babydoll Nursing Top in the purple and I'm seriously in love (actually I'm wearing it right now)
What I really like about it, the shirring that's at the top there, it goes ALL the way around the top so you can't tell it's nursing. Then in the front it picks up to expose you for nursing. But not only that, underneath it is a plain v neck line, so if baby picks up the shirring part, you're still fully covered. Well there is lots of cleavage showing, but it's better than bare boobs right??

I absolutely love this top!
Here it is on me in one of my week pictures. This was 15 weeks.
It's very flowy in the front, that's why I was pulling it back to show the belly.

I do love it and to be honest, I think it will definitely last me all summer!!! It's got a lot of room in the front there. I also can't wait to wear it next summer when I'm nursing.
And I can't wait to wear it summer after summer!! It's a gorgeous top!

It comes in 5 colors.
Blue, Black, Purple, Green, and Pink. They're all beautiful colors.

There is lots more to choose from on the Milk website!

Price: This top is $36 normally, but it's a week special right now and is $33.99. This is a great price in my opinion.

Overall: *****

Slather It On Review & Giveaway

It's summer time, and that means some good BBQ food. Slather It On and their Slatherin' sauce is here for you.

We received a bottle of sauce in the Original Slatherin' Sauce. The day we got it we were making chicken drumsticks so it was the perfect time to try it out.

We made half the sticks with wing sauce and the other half with slatherin' sauce.

This is the PERFECT sauce. It hits all the taste buds. It's Tangy, Sweet, Sour, and Salty all in one (it's not bitter, but I'll pass on that one)
They also have a spicy version, but this one had enough of a kick for me.
It was a very good sauce and I LOVED it!!

They sell a 1/2 gallon of the Spicy Sauce. That would last a while unless you're the duggar family, then it's 2 meals. But it's not bad to have to last all summer.

It's made in Charleston South Carolina.

Price: The 1/2 gallon is $26.99. The 16oz bottle is $7.99.

Overall: ***** Good sauce!

Softlips Review & Giveaway

I love Softlips. I always ensure that I have some everywhere. In the winter I keep one in each car. I have them in my junk drawer in between the living room and kitchen. In my nightstand and purse. I keep Softlips everywhere because they are the best and they work the best.

Softlips has a new look!! They have the same great formulas in their balms, but changed the look of the packaging and I think it's much more attractive.
I received the old packaging here, but check out the website for the new packaging.

I received 6 2 packs of balms! That's 12 balms!!! I know I'll never run out again that's for sure.
All the original flavors, but in their great new packaging.

I received a double pack of Vanilla, Mint and Vanilla, Double pack of Strawberry, double pack of Raspberry with Green tea Extract, Wildberry and Cherry and lastly a double cherry.
I'm not much of a cherry person, never have been. So Avery has been using them!! She loves them just as much as I do.

My favorite is the Raspberry and the Strawberry. Love them both, but I like that the raspberry has the green tea.

I love that their balms are clear. Nothing to stain the lips, just nice and clear. They're so shiny it looks like you're wearing gloss, but it's plain balm!

I love these and I'll always have plenty in stock because it's really one of the only balms I wear now.

They have some great new summer flavors out now too like Peach Mango and Passionfruit!!
They have some Best of Packs too. Best of Winter, Best of Beach, Best of Original, Best of Organics, and Best of Glosses.
So you can buy them in packs!

Price: the Packs are $9.99+ $.99 shipping!! Not bad for 5 balms!!

Overall: ***** Love softlips.

Wisharoo Park is the hottest new thing for kids ages 3-6. It's an interactive website, toys and a t.v show all in one!!

We were sent a wonderful prize package for review.
It came in a yummy solid chocolate bowl

12 finger puppets and a 2disc DVD set
The third one in each row here is turned over so you see where the finger goes
 The chocolate was very yummy

Avery has been loving her puppets, they're so cute. She loves putting 10 of them on her fingers and walking through the house, she's so silly.

The DVD is really cute too. It's interactive, has songs you can sing and more. Wisharoo Park is very new and just released. They have an interactive website too where you can play games, watch videos and play activities.

She loves her DVD's though and likes to sing the songs.

I love the name a well. It sounds fun and like kids would WANT to play with it. It's a fun and cute, thoughtful name.

They're doing it again!

Some of you who have been here a while MIGHT remember when the Gov't tried to fire Jon. Ring any bells? It was 2 years ago after all. But for a refresher here is a bit of back story.

Jon was hired in September 2009. He was working directly for the General and the Colonel on our local Air Force Base. He was to be sending out orders and lining up their trips for them out of state and was hired as an Executive Assistant. They hired him knowing he was a disabled veteran and they knew he was on medications that could prevent him from waking up in time.
In 90 days he called in about 4 times stating he woke up late and would be there late.
They tried to fire him basically, he was in a 90 day probationary period and on the 89th day (no joke) they fired him, served him his papers.
He hired an attorney who sent them a letter and multiple hone calls and all in all got his job back. He is a disabled veteran so it was discrimination.

FAST FORWARD. Jon was a part of the union on base and they don't like the union but everything was fine up until January this year. He was in the running to become the Vice President of the union since the President was retiring in April and the VP was becoming the P they needed a new VP (with me??).

There was their guy there that they fired. And he was helping him get his job back (that didn't happen, but he's gotten him LOTS of money instead). Ever since he started doing Union business they started truly hating him.

They stopped talking to him, stopped giving him orders, said there was no more work for him AND moved his partner out of his office to down the hall. Sounds a LITTLE like retaliation right?

Well they KNOW they can't fire him unless he's committed a true crime (which he hasn't)... So what are they doing now?????????

MOVING HIM without his consent. They are moving his position to a dispatcher for the whole base, it's the busiest position on the base and they're doing it so he can't do union work anymore. AND THEY'RE MOVING SOMEBODY ELSE IN TO DO HIS POSITION (but wait, they don't have work for him anymore, right?) Again Retaliation? A bit... He is not consenting to this.
THIS WILL AGGRAVATE HIS PTSD and they know it.

He's been talking to the AFGE (union) lawyer in DC and he's going to have him give the colonel there a call today. The lawyer even said that if they follow through with this (which as of today they are) they're breaking 4 laws and 7 statutes. So this is wrong and they know it.

They just want him out of their hair.
So we'll see where this takes us, but I really thought I'd update the whole Gov't treating their employees thing. Because it's not nice at all. They think that since they're the gov't they make the rules and that's SO NOT TRUE.

The guy that he helped. They fired him because he was Scottish and apparently they couldn't understand a word he said. This guy joined the U.S. military to get citizenship. He was in for 18 years before he deployed for 16 months to Iraq... WHILE there he becamse injured and John McCain himself gave him his citizenship. I've seen the picture myself and it's truly amazing.
He too is a disabled veteran and they fired him. Jon has won several battles with this guy and he's still fighting for a settlement. But he's gotten this guy some money in the meantime and he's already making more retired then he did working.
They just never learn.

So that's an update!

Pure T Review & Giveaway

I've said it before, but finding cute maternity clothes is really hard to do, ESPECIALLY in store. Online is a bit easier because there's lots more to choose from.
When I came across Pure T I was actually in love.

They take your basic items and add a few little flares to them to make them SO MUCH more then basics.
I received a Weekend in the Hampton's Dress in the Emerald Green

You can see why I fell in love with this dress. When I got it it looked different for some reason, but once I put it on and tied it it was simply beautiful.
This dress is simple. When you get it it's just a dress with an uneven hemline, but when you tie it and get those pleats in the front it's just gorgeous.

This dress was short when I first tried it on. I thought I'd have to wear leggings or something with it because it was SHORT, I mean short. WAY shorter then I'm used to. BUT I contacted her and she said HANG IT UP.
I hadn't yet and I was a little confused at first, but she said the material is so stretchy that if you hang it, it can grow about 1.5" sometimes.

So I hung it and tried it on a week later. Seriously HUGE difference. It really did 'grow' and fits great.
I think this will be what I wear to the Randy Travis and Josh Turner concert on Sunday. It will be hot and this is nice and airy.

It is a bit of a thicker material. It's almost like a t-shirt but doubled up. It's very soft though and so far I'm just simply in love. The color is gorgeous, it's super soft and is very flattering.
This dress comes in 4 colors too. A black, Navy, Aqua and the Emerald Green

There are so many pieces to choose from. She has short sleeves, long sleeves, and dresses.
Here are some favorites.

As you can see, simple but beautiful all in the same!
They originated right here in the USA!!!
twentyoff will give you 20% off all summer merchandise!

Price: The dress I received is $74. The last top with the Heart Pocket is on sale for $34. So you can find good deals on the sale pieces, but the full prices are a bit for me. BUT this dress could easily be worn after pregnancy too.

Overall: ***** Love the dress, color, material all of it!

Alphabeasts Review & Giveaway

Avery knows her entire alphabet, but now we're working on uppercase and lowercase. She's learning but isn't the best at them yet.

Alphabeasts are a cute new way to teach uppercase and lowercase letters!!

I was sent 4 of them for review and Avery just loves them
One size is Uppercase and the beasts are one color
The other side is lowercase and they are a different color.
They are so soft and cuddly. They're made of fleece so you can imagine just how soft and warm they are.
Avery has been trying to sleep with all 4, but that's NOT happening so I've been telling her 2 tops, but she wakes up and she's so hot, so I've been telling her she can only sleep with 1. The one she chooses most often is Vin-Vin (v)

She loves him and I think he might have the best shape for cuddling.

She's also learning her UC and LC letters though which is the whole point. I think they're a cute way of learning and the child doesn't get bored with them.

Another great feature is you can buy multiple beasts and child can learn how to spell with them as well.
They have plush toys and Baby Books Box Set (coming in August). They have all 26 letters of the alphabet so that's great!
Price: The Beasts are $20 each and the little books are $20 as well They are an ABC book set so they have each letter.

Overall: ***** They're cute

Hayneedle Review

You all know my infatuation with CSN Stores. Well hayneedle is very similar.
You think of something you need/want and they have it I GUARANTEE it!!!

They separate items into categories. You click on the category you need at the top and choose your item from there. Helps weed out possibilities a little better. They have Outdoor, Baby, Furniture, Kids, Sports, Outlet and MORE!!! Lots more.

We were VERY lucky to receive the Backyard Discovery Winchester Playhouse and I'M in LOVE!! Yes I said I as in ME am in love!! Avery loves it too, but I think it's great!
It's for ages 3-10 so this really couldn't have come at a better time.
 All the parts
I was very thankful that most of it was already pre assembled!
3 sides together and the front and one peak on.
Yes we need to finish our deck!!!
Bay Windows attached and the roof assembled.

All done. Front porch peak on, door on, bench on flower pots on!
 Working Doorbell
 Shutters
You might notice the bay window doesn't look all that even. I had to cut a couple pieces in order to get them all to fit. So it's not perfect.
 Same with this one.
Pretty good size. EASILY fit 3 toddlers in there or 2 older kids.
 Flower Pots
She got to see it for the first time!
I'm 5'6" and can fully stand up inside at the peak!!

I need to take her to Home Depot and let her pick out some flowers.
We are going to buy some rubber mulch to put inside of it and some pea gravel on the outside. At this point I think it would kill the grass so this is a great option. THEN I'm going to put her kitchen in it which I'm pretty sure will fit PERFECTLY.
I'll put it out there in the spring/summer/fall and bring it in for the winter every year!

The directions were very easy to follow. All the pieces were stamped with the number they needed to be, so it was pretty easy.
Because I'm pregnant and needed LOTS of breaks for food and water this took me a total of 6 hours over 2 days, but I don't think that was so bad, and if it had been cooler and I wasn't pregnant, I'd say maybe 4 hours! It would have been easier with 2 people doing it too. Jon didn't help me hardly at all. Just with putting on the shutters and door so he could hold them still while I screwed them together and while putting the porch awning up. That was it. The rest was all me!!!!

I did have to drill 3 holes. While I as putting the 3 main sides together the holes didn't line up. There was a corner piece and they put it on upside down so the holes were on the right and I needed them on the left. So I drilled 3 holes and then cut 4 pieces with a saw and miter box. Other than that, Everything lined up perfectly and was easy to assemble!

ALL ON MY OWN TOO!
If I can do this ANYBODY can do this.
It might be easier to have an assistant, but I got it done.

Overall Avery really loves her play house.

Hayneedle has things at a major discount from their MSRP and that's what I love!

Price: This playhouse retails for $499. On the Hayneedle website it's $399 so 20% off. That's a huge discount.
And I'm glad that I'll have at least 2 kids to keep it busy!!

Overall: ***** the shipping was fast. It was here in 6 days. It actually sat in the driveway for 3 weeks before we finally got it together. Jon was wanting to build a patio to put it on, but that would have been expensive.

Sugar Free RingPop Review

I used to love RingPops as a kid! They were great and perfect. They were a long lasting sucker, but you didn't have to stall what you were doing to eat them because they went right on your finger like a ring!!

When I had the chance to try Sugar Free RingPops for this review I was excited.
I was sent along a 3 pack with Watermelon, Strawberry and Blue Raspberry flavors inside. I didn't really want to let Avery have these as they have splenda in them and well that's aspartame which isn't good for kids. BUT I enjoyed them!!

They were all pretty good. Not as good as the originals, you could tell they used a sugar substitute, but they were good! Most parents would allow their children to have these because a sugar substitute is fake sugar, but I chose against it.

Avery is a little young for these at 4 anyway.

I enjoyed them though!!
This is fantastic for diabetics though because it's sugar free.
Look for Sugar Free Ring Pop at Walmart and BJ's stores nationwide. Sugar Free Ring Pops are also available at Amazon.com and ShopTopps.com.

Price: a bag of 24 is $21.97 at Amazon 3 bags of 3 is $4.95. So they are reasonable.
