This weekend I set out to Home Depot, JoAnn's Fabrics, and Hobby Lobby to get some crafts for Avery done!
So first I made Avery her name using This tutorial! And I still think I have enough MDF board left to do the entire alphabet. All I will need is scrapbooking paper and picture hangers! So it will be under $15!
Still haven't hung it!! Doing that today!
Then I made her a Blanket using a tutorial I found on the blogosphere. But you could just google "How To Make a Tie Blanket" and you'll find PLENTY of results. I did a pull through Knot though and not a tie knot!
Right now JoAnn's has their Fleece 40% off. So the entire blanket cost me about $20!
Then out of the corners that I cut, I made Avery's dolls a Patchwork Blanket by hand! That only took about 20 minutes!
So the blanket took me about 2 hours. It measures a 42" X 50". I asked for a yard and a half of each so 54" of each, and then once I was done and measured it that's how it was, so they must have cut it wrong. But it's perfect for her toddler bed, and in the car, and traveling!!
The name also took about 3 hours, but an hour of that was the labor. I had to wait for the paint to dry (2 coats) mod podge to dry, 4 coats (one for gluing down letters one for gluing down scrapbooking paper and 2 on top). So it did take a while, but I'm so happy with the way it turned out that Next weekend I'm getting everything needed for the Alphabet one!! I'm so excited and can't wait to get it started!
