Having worked with HALO many times now, I know their quality. I know that these last for as long as you need them too and provide your baby with safe sleep. 

According to a new government study, more than half of U.S. parents say their babies sleep with pillows, blankets and other loose bedding despite recommendations against their use from doctors and health officials. The American Academy of Pediatrics warns against using soft bedding of any kind in a baby’s crib and recommends that parents follow safe sleep practices.

HALO’s founder lost his own child to SIDS and has made it his mission to raise awareness about safe sleep for babies. HALO provides Swaddles free of charge to more than 1,300 hospitals nationwide and is constantly looking for ways to educate parents, caregivers and childbirth educators in sleep safety.

HALO has a brand new product. A new Winter Weight Sleep Sack and we had the chance to try out the cute blue penguin!

 We always love the bottom up zipper! Makes changes easier and harder for baby to undo.

 Inside is a quilting pattern.

The new Winter Weight is very thick and warm. It's meant for the coldest of nights and has a TOG rating of 2.5 (their fleece versions are a 1). The higher the number, the warmer.  They have a 100% polyester fill to make them like a quilt! 

I just love using sleep sacks. Keeps blankets out of their beds, while still keeping them warm. 

They are machine washable and dryable as well which makes them nice!

I've really loved the Winter Weight and so has my almost 1 year old. It keeps him warm and cozy which is great since his room gets so cold at night. And keeps him SAFE at the same time. 

We got the large for him (12-18m, 30-35" and 22-28 pounds). He is almost 12m, 32" and about 21 pounds and it is a little bit big, but not so big he'll get tangled up in it, but it will also last a long time. I've found in the past with HALO's items, they do tend to run a little big, so if you're in between sizes, go smaller.

Winter Weight also comes in a pink snowflake style and comes in sizes 0-6m-12-18m. I just wish they made something similar in the big kids too!

Safe Sleep Tips 
ALWAYS

• Place baby to sleep on his or her back at naptime and at night time. 
• Use a crib that meets current safety standards with a firm mattress that fits snugly and is covered with only a tight-fitting crib sheet. 
• Remove all soft bedding and toys from your baby’s sleep area (this includes loose blankets, bumpers, pillows and positioners). The American Academy of Pediatrics suggests using a wearable blanket instead of loose blankets to keep your baby warm. 
• Offer a pacifier when putting baby to sleep. If breastfeeding, introduce pacifier after one month or after breastfeeding has been established. 
• Breastfeed, if possible, but when finished, put your baby back to sleep in his or her separate safe sleep area alongside your bed. 
• Room share, but don’t bed share. Bed sharing can put a child at risk of suffocation. 

NEVER

• Never put your baby to sleep on any soft surface (adult beds, sofas, chairs, water beds, quilts, sheep skins etc.) 
• Never dress your baby too warmly for sleep; keep room temperature 68-72 degrees Fahrenheit. 
• Never allow anyone to smoke around your baby or take your baby into a room or car where someone has recently smoked.
