As an early teen I never suffered from acne. Sure I had a pimple here and there, but I didn't have acne. I ran track and had oily skin but the acne stayed at bay. Then I got on birth control at 17. It ruined me forever. The acne was horrendous. It would be really red or too unsightly, but more like under the skin bumps. Only few ever came to a head. When I got birth control out in November at 20 I was very relieved to be getting rid of the hormones. My acne started going away IMMEDIATELY. I mean within 1 week my face was half cleared up. Then it slowed down a bit, but still got better and better.
Then in April I got pregnant. My acne is back and it's in full force. Again though, just under the skin bumps. I actually pulled my first blackhead the other day too. EW!!!
When I had the chance to review Skintactix I was very excited to try it and possibly get rid of this acne.
GRR. I hate when it uploads sideways. Even if I change it back and then upload it, it's sideways the other way and not straight!
Anyway, I received the T3 Kit (It was A3 when I chose it and I think their bottles have gotten a revamp since then). It's for sensitive skin. I have rosacea and eczema so it was the best choice for me.
There are 3 steps. A cleanser, Exfoliator and a green tea Poultice.
So far I have enjoyed this kit. I wash my face once a day though and I don't know if that wasn't enough or what, but my acne didn't really go away. It went down some, but not much. Maybe it's the pregnancy hormones or maybe I used it once instead of twice a day that made the difference. BUT I still loved it. It has an invigorating feel. My face felt clean and it didn't dry me out like a LOT do. Proactiv dried me out so severely my face was cracking and I couldn't smile or laugh. It was that bad. This was very nice feeling and my face felt moist.
So overall I enjoyed it.
They have 3 kits to choose from in the trial. There's Normal/Combo, Oily and Sensitive/Dry. My face is pretty dry and it's sensitive so that's what I chose.
They have full size 2 month kits to chose from too.
Price: The 2 month supply kits with 3 steps are $32.99 which isn't too bad. The trial kits are $19.99. It's definitely worth getting the larger kit.
Overall: ***** Love them and they felt good unlike the competitor Proactiv.
I learned travel kits are TSA approved - hubby got his hair gel taken away on his last business trip:)

ReplyDeleteI learned that benzoyl peroxide is known to cause premature skin aging, just like repeated sun exposure or persistent acne. Wow - I didn't realize that. I would pick the sensitive skin product.

I learned that Benzoyl Peroxide, which is commonly used in many acne treatments, can be damaging to the skin.
