I hate sickies, do you? We had that stomach bug a while back and it was just terrible. I would never wish that on my worst enemy. I felt like I was dying. Thankfully it was only 36 hours and didn't last DAYS like the normal flu.
I get colds and sinus issues often though. I was lucky enough to receive a Cough, Cold and Flu value pack from Boiron for review.
This could not have come at a better time. About 2 days after this I felt a cold coming on. As usual, I woke up stuffy, eyes were swollen, it hurt a little to swallow because I was breathing with my mouth open while I slept. All the usual symptoms.
So I took a dose (2 tablets) of the Cold Calm and another dose every 15 minutes for 2 hours. After that I went down to one dose every hour. By the next morning all symptoms ceased!!! YAY.
When I woke up the next morning I gave Avery 3 doses total just so she didn't get it. I don't know if I should've done that, but she did wake up a little runny, and it seemed to have helped.
I hope we never have to use that Flu one, but if it works as well as this Cold Calm did, then I'd be happy to have it on hand.
AS for the cough, we cough often, Since I have sinus issues, I'm always coughing for something or another. I can't wait (or can I?) to use this one as well. I'm sure it will work wonders.
What I really love about these products is they are all great for the whole family to use. Cold Calm is safe for 3+ to adult! And they dissolve which is great for me who can't swallow pills worth nothing. The flu is good for 2+ and also dissolves. And the Cough is for 12+, but they have one for children under 12.
You usually can't find a product that's great for everyone, so this saves money in the long run.
For flu-like symptoms: Clinical studies show Oscillococcinum® works naturally to reduce the duration and the severity of flu-like symptoms. For 65 years, families throughout the world have relied on Oscillococcinum at the first sign of feeling run down, body aches, chills and fever. Oscillo® is safe for everyone ages 2 & up.
For cold symptoms: Unlike other cold medications, Coldcalm® is designed to target specific symptoms of each stage of the cold, such as sneezing, runny nose, nasal congestion, and minor sore throat. Coldcalm is safe for everyone ages 3 & up.
For coughs: Chestal® offers an economical multi-cough formula that combines homeopathic medicines with a natural honey base. It relieves all types of common coughs, and contains no artificial colors of flavors. It soothes dry, fitful coughs at bedtime so they don’t prevent sleep, but without drowsy side effects for the day. Chestal is safe for everyone ages 2 & up.

You can buy Boiron products at Health food stores, or online at Amazon or Drugstore.com
Price: The Cough, Cold and Flu value pack is $28.49 on Amazon. They have a children's version as well which is $26.99. Since most people don't get the Flu often, the Cough is $14.99 for 8.45oz and the Cold is $9.45 for the 60 tablets.
Overall: ***** The prices are a little higher, but it's homeopathic so it's healthier for you!
*Disclaimer* I received these products directly from the Company for Review. I was not paid to try out these products*
I am interested in the Coldcalm for a cold. If it works I don't mind paying a little more!!!

Actually all of Boiron's products are really aces in my book. The oscilloccinum has saved my bacon many times from having the full blown flu and the cold calm, on a trip to Paris one year, was the only thing that got me through a trip that would have easily been very miserable... Really great to see it reviewed.
ReplyDeleteI'm very interested in the coldcalm, I would rather take a product every 15 minutes for 2 hours and have it gone fast then every 4 hours and be miserable for days.
