I received a sample from Caribou Baby for the sole purpose of this review
Babywearing is very near and dear to my heart (literally and figuratively). I love wearing my babies and I love trying out new carriers. My new love with my youngest has been woven wraps. I love trying them and trying new brands. A brand that I have heard MANY good things about is Girasol and now I'm hooked and need more! They are so buttery soft right from the start and just soften up with washing and use.
Caribou Baby helped me fall in love with Girasol by sending me the Coral Diamond Weave wrap!
I was a little leery at first since it looked kind of pink. I didn't know what shade it would be, but they went out of their way to take different pictures of it for me in different lighting and helped me realize it's more of a reddish orange! I was so excited to get it and open it up for the first time!
It came wrapped up so pretty I ALMOST didn't want to open it!
It's a magenta color with orange diamonds an it comes together to create a nice reddish shade!
With my 2.5 year old in a back wrap cross carry (BWCC)
With the baby in a front wrap cross carry (FWCC)
I got the size 6 which I've found to be my standard size. It's long enough to do just about any carry I like. I do the BWCC, FWCC and the Robin's Hip Carry the most! These are my go to carries. I also like the FWCC tied at shoulder and those can all EASILY be done with a size 6.
This wrap is so amazing. It's so soft right from the start. It is like butter. I've now washed it once as well and it is 10 times softer already. I can't even imagine how soft it will get with more use. I'll also make a hammock with it with my bedroom doors and my 2 year old will play in that, it helps break it in and soften it up more.
Overall this wrap is awesome. The diamond weave is super pretty, the shade is awesome and the softness is great. It has spoiled me and made me want more Gira's (as they're called in the BW community!) The best part is they're not real expensive either like a lot of woven wraps.
Caribou Baby has many other items to shop from too. They have other babywearing items, but also Diapering, Teething, Toys and more!!
Price: The Coral Diamond size 6 is $139 for the coral, $109 for a size 4. These are great prices for wovens!
Overall: *****

ReplyDeleteGirasol is the first name I ever heard for a woven wrap! My friend Kelly has one, and I'm rather jealous of how soft it is! My gauze wrap doesn't compare at all!

ReplyDeleteI finally tried a woven wrap about a month ago and I love it. I bought myself a Girasol and it is so nice to have my little one in. I am not yet brave enough to try a back carry with my 4 month old just yet.

These wraps are beautiful! I've used ring slings and soft structured carriers, but haven't had the courage to try a woven wrap, I would love one of these!
ReplyDeleteWould love to see one of these in person
ReplyDeleteOh this looks like such a comfortable wrap! I love the color too and they carry so many awesome prints! A lot of carriers the material isn't soft and your back starts to hurt after while, but this wrap looks perfect!
