2013 Kia Optima

Are you in the market for a great mid size car? The 2013 Kia Optima may be the right one for you and your needs.

The 2013 Kia Optima averages 28mpg so it's a very fuel efficient option if that's important to you. It gets 24 in the city and 35 on the highway. This is very accurate.
My husband drove the car to Cedar Point and back and the car was averaging 33mpg.

I received the 2013 Kia Optima EX for my test drive. It has some really great features like dual temperature control w/rear vents, sirius satellite radio, bluetooth technology, push button start with a smart key and so much more.
I have really come to love the smart key's. You get in your car and push a button to start the car, as long as the key is within a certain distance of the car, it will start. This means you can leave it in your pocket or purse and not have to worry about leaving them, finding them or dealing with all the stress.

The large trunk was definitely one of the best features. My husband drives a mid size car and his trunk is not nearly this big.

Also has a cargo net
And if that wasn't enough, the rear seats fold down ALMOST flat, so you can store a lot in this car.

I do love that it shows a human body so you truly know where the air flow is aimed at.
Center console is plenty large for all your things.
There is a lot of leg room in the front as well.
Down to Cedar Point my husband's 6'6" friend rode with him and he fit in the car with ease, no issues at all. It's a 3 hour drive each way and he had no complaints about the car at all.
The dashboard is very sleek and a very modern design.
Steering wheel mounted controls make adjusting everything easy, without taking your concentration off the road.
The back was also pretty spacious. There's a decent amount of leg room back there. And I love the look of the cream leather seats with the black.
 Rear vents.

The Kia Optima is a really safe car. It offers Dual Front Advanced Airbags, Dual Front Mounted Side Airbags, Full Length Side Curtain Airbags, Vehicle Stability Management, Electronic Stability Control, Brake Assist System and so so much more.

I would recommend the Kia Optima to anybody who needs a commute car, or a very small family (3-4). I had no issues fitting 2 car seats in this car, but 3 would be almost impossible. It's a wonderful car with great gas mileage though.

The Kia Optima starts at a base price of $21,500. The EX that I received with a few extras came to $24,524. Very reasonably priced.

*Disclaimer, I received a Kia Optima for a 1 week test drive. All opinions here are 100% my own and I was not compensated to write this post, other than receiving the vehicle.

  15. Wow it looks nice inside! My mom drives a Kia and she gets so many complements on it! They are really designed to look like higher priced options but the prices for the Kia are more reasonable for most parents' budgets.

  20. Kia has become a great car company. Kia makes some of the best cars & SUVs on the market for a great price with high-star ratings for safety. This car is fantastic. I like all it offers at an affordable price.

  21. Kia has come a long way since the inception of the brand. I think their reputation has improved drastically and their warranty definitely helps. I like the sportier models myself.

  27. I have a Kia Amanti and honestly, it the best car I've EVER had. It's a 2005 and I still get comments about how sleek and nice it looks. I like the Optima from what I've seen and read and I know from personal experience that Kia is a great company. And if it's anything like my Amanti, it's a first class car without the expensive price tag!

  39. It's a good looking car, i give you that. And it's probably pretty dependable. I just don't have enough experience with Kia to have enough confidence to actually buy one. But if I was in the market for a car, (i'm looking to buy a truck or SUV), i would check it out more and consider it because it is good looking and i haven't heard anything really terrible about them.

  40. Enjoyed your review. I love how big the trunk is on this car and that the rear seats fold down as well for more storage. My primary vehicle is an suv due to our car not having the necessary storage space when I'm shopping but I have to say, this on rivals my suv, love it. Also the color works well for this car. I'd love to test one out myself! Thanks for the great review!
