The Things Children Say!

I really think that what I'm about to post is the parents fault... I'm still very young, I'm 22. But even I was raised better then this and the times have certainly changed even in just those very short years.

At our bus stop there is a dad who lets all the Kindergartners,  First Graders and then all the girls on the bus first because the boys all push and shove their way on. This has been going on for a few months now.

Today a boy around the age of 9 or so said "Boys are superior to girls so we should get on the bus first."

I was completely blown away. My jaw literally did drop and so did another mother's. The boys have to wait like 3 minutes for all the girls to go first. I don't think ANY person in the world should believe that 1 gender is superior to another, let alone an elementary student.

I could not believe what I hear out of his mouth.
Another mother on Facebook brought up to me that maybe he doesn't have any sisters, and she said that her (5) boys think this way as well.

So is it the parent's fault? Or just that maybe he doesn't have any sisters and he just doesn't know any different?

I still think that parent's should teach equality whether you're a 1 gender family or not. It took both genders to get kids here...

So what do you think?

Avery got glasses!

For a few months now we've been noticing that when Avery looks down her right eye turns in and then when she looks back up it takes a second or two to refocus. So we took her to the eye dr. He basically said it's a lazy eye, but wanted her to see a specialist first. So we took her to a Pediatric Ophthalmologist and he confirmed that she needed glasses and had a lazy eye.
So we ordered them and we just picked them up yesterday! She's excited about them, which I guess is good in a way because she'll be more careful with them, but I wish she didn't need glasses.

He's hoping that her eyes will be totally fine and corrected when she hits puberty. Actually he sounded pretty confident that they would be. We go back in about 6 weeks to get her eyes looked at again. He said he'll know if there's been a change in just that short amount of time. If there's not she'll need a patch over the good eye to help the bad eye correct.

But here she is in her Juicy Couture glasses!
She had torticollis as a baby and they think this is related since it's a weak muscle basically. And it's the same side.

We already notice a difference though, her eye doesn't turn in when she's wearing them.

Vitacost Review & Giveaway

As the years have progressed and gone on, I have become more health conscious. In the way I raise my children and myself. I try and go more natural wherever possible. I've finally come to the mindset that paying more for something natural is better. It's better for you and your body so it's better to spend more money. But with Vitacost you don't need to do that! Vitacost is CHEAP when it comes to most of their items and they are a lot more affordable than other natural and healthy places.

I received the African Black Soap in Peppermint and the Sugar Whip Moisturizing Body Scrub in Tahitian Vanilla.
