Kam Snaps Review & Giveaway*CLOSED*

A lot of our Diapers are Velcro. I'm not too fond of it. Avery figured out velcro VERY quick. So snaps were better for her to not take the diaper off. 

Kam Snaps has you covered. They sell the snaps you need as well as the pliers you need to put the snaps on.
We received 2 colors to match BumGenius diapers. The Grasshopper (green) and Butternut (yellow). It also came with the Snap Pliers and an awl to poke the holes needed.  She also sent along some random engraved and shape snaps in random colors. And some Ooga Snap covers in the BumGenius colors I needed.

 First diaper. I went out and bought a seam ripper and took all the velcro off.

 Then made a template for my snap placement.
I poked holes in the paper, lined it up and used a washable marker to make my dots. Poked holes with my awl and then inserted my backs.

 Still grasshopper, but bad lighting. Some of them done!!
You put the back on. Place the cap on and then press down with the pliers. It puts a lot of pressure on it and takes that pointy back and PUSHES it down, it spreads so the cap can't come off. Pretty neat.

I had a slight problem with the caps breaking on my wings. I don't know if it's because they were engraved or the pliers weren't centered, but I used a trick I found online to break them off and re did them. I centered it as good as possible and did it again. Some split right in half and others were just fine. It was hit or miss. 

So there are 3 pieces to a snap. The back, the Socket and the stud. Also known at the Female and Male parts!! You put the back and then either the socket or stud your choice. Then on the wing it's a back and the opposite socket/stud.

So you need more caps then anything else. 

I did 2 of each of these diapers. I still have a white to do and on that one I think I'll alternate the butternut and grasshopper colors for some difference!! 

I did have a problem with some of them snapping and just assumed it was the way I pressed down. So I learned online that you can take off the rubber stopper on the pliers and try it that way. I did that and was able to get most of them to snap. Some are still tough though and one wing won't snap at all. So I'll take off that snap and re do it and I shouldn't have an issue. 

They have a great tutorial page though that helped me out tremendously!!

The pliers also come with some extra rubber stoppers, an extra spring and a screwdriver to fix it. 

The pliers were really easy to use. Just line up the snap and press it down with quite a bit of pressure. DONE!! Super easy. The whole process of 4 diapers took me about an hour which I don't think is bad for a newbie. I poked all holes first then put in all back caps, then put on all sockets and then pressed down. It was faster that way!

Price: The Pliers are $27 NOT BAD at all. They also sell a press which is much bigger and it is $87. Which again isn't that bad. It sits on the table though and you just press down, it's not handheld which makes things easier. 

Snaps are $5 for a COMPLETE set of 100 snaps. 200 caps, 100 studs and 100 sockets. This is CHEAP!!! 

Overall: ***** the process was easy. Snaps are wanted more so then velcro so it's worth the investment for resale on diapers. You can also put snaps on a LOT of other things too.
