Yet another Swimsuit. I have gotten LOTS of use out of my Lime Ricki swimsuit. I've worn it about 4 times already I think!

I received the Jennie Tankini Top with the Pink Bottom and I'm in love!

Just like the one in the image. I like the fun dot print and the HOT pink really gives it an extra flare.

They had warned me ahead of time that the suits were running a little small this year. So instead of medium top and small bottom I got Large top and Medium bottom and I'm pleasantly surprised at the sizing. I probably could've gone my normal size, but this still fits me very nicely as well. It's got a little give to it, which is nice when you're trying to peel it off your body.

Like I said, I have used this about 4 times now and have washed AND DRIED it twice and nothing has faded, shrunk, or come undone. So I'm very happy with this suit!

They have plenty others to suit anyone (no pun intended hehe) and I'm sure you're bound to find AT LEAST 2 you like!! Yes I'm that confident!

Fireworks Over Toccoa Book Review & Giveaway

I'm all about a good book. I love to read. I don't always have a lot of time and I don't finish books very fast. But I do love a good book.

Fireworks Over Toccoa is a book that I couldn't put down. They compared Jeffrey Stepakoff to Nicholas Sparks and they were so right. I love me some Nicholas Sparks so I knew I would enjoy this book. 

Every so often a story comes along that reminds of what it’s like to experience love for the first time – against the odds, when you least expect it, and with such passion that it completely changes you forever.

I really enjoyed the book and it was written very well. This is a book that would appeal to all ages. Although there are a couple of heated sex scenes. I think that a Young Adult could appreciate this book. It's about being torn in half over love and I think anybody can learn from this book.

It tells the story of Lily Davis, married just three weeks when her husband was shipped off overseas in 1942. We find her in 1945, just days before her husband is set to return. Set in Toccoa Georgia, Lily goes about her normal life, if you want to call it normal, unpacking everything and setting up house. In the course of all this, she runs across Jake Russo, who is in town to create the fireworks display on the 4th of July. Meeting him shakes up Lily's life. She realizes she barely knows the man she calls her husband and that she is tired of her organized, planned out southern life. She feels passionate about this dark stranger, who she has only known for a short time. Passionate enough to leave her entire life behind?

I was intrigued by Jake Russo, an Italian American, who fought in WWII while his own father was being kept in an interment camp back in America. There's a great flashback scene where Jake is talking to his father through the gate of the interment camp he's being kept in. He's confused and asks his father how can he fight for this country who is keeping his father - who has never caused no harm to anyone - locked up? I'm glad that this subject was brought up in this book. Interment camps are often overlooked in American history. And Italian interment camps are something that the government has barely acknowledged even happened. 

This story left me breathless and actually made my CRY in the end. Books never make me cry. When a book makes me cry it's an automatic 5 STAR. 

Price: As with any book this one runs about $23. So worth it. 

Overall: ***** Definitely. And then some!

Twisted Orchid Review & Giveaway

I love handbags. I don't have too many of them, but I absolutely love them!

I was able to receive a BEAUTIFUL handbag from Twisted Orchid. 

I received the Burgundy Hobo. I didn't really look at the dimensions. I like bigger bags, but I thought Hobo's were on the smaller side. BOY was I wrong! I'm not complaining as I LOVE my bag, but it's much bigger than expected.

  It's very big! HUGE is probably a better term. 

I love it though. Great for those larger tripe to the beach and stuff. It's a fake leather so it's easy to clean and wipe with a damp cloth. This bag has some great features.

I like the Black bottom and that it has little feet on it to keep the bag cleaner. It is also wide so once you have stuff in it the bag will lie flat on a surface and not tip over. I can really appreciate a well made bag that is ANIMAL FRIENDLY LEATHER. I can appreciate any well made bag actually. This bag has some pockets inside for keeping some stuff separate! 

I'm really loving this hobo.

Price: This bag is $76. Very expensive if you ask me. For fake leather it is pricey.

Overall: *** 1/2. It's very expensive and I'm not feeling the price. But everything else I like! And they have FREE SHIPPING

Birthday

Today is my birthday, I turned 20! I don't feel different, but it's nice to no longer be a teenager!

We're having a BBQ with some friends over in a little bit. Just a little get together. It will be nice. We haven't had people over in a while!! Can't wait!

Jon got me an Edible Arrangement for my birthday and He's taking us out to dinner either tomorrow or Monday! Other than that, it's just another Saturday around here! Maybe I'll get Jon to take a pictures of me today from the BBQ!

Most people might say that K'Nex building products are for little boys. Me? I say not so much! I have no problem with Avery building with lego's or other building products. When I contacted K'Nex I wouldn't wait to see what age appropriate items they were going to send me!

Eyeglasses

When I was younger I used to wear  Eyeglasses. I was in 4th grade and my eyes starting hurting me and I would get headaches when I read for a long time. My mom took me to the optometrist and they got me some reading glasses. I wore them for a while and half the time forgot. I wore my glasses for 2 years when I went back to the dr. for a checkup.


I went in and he told me I no longer needed glasses and that my eyes had improved on their own. This was fantastic news, but I kind of missed my glasses. Oh well I was happy! After a few years I started getting headaches again once I was in high school and was reading more and more. I went back and this time they gave me Prescription Glasses again as they said I again needed them. My eyes got worse again!


I wore my Glasses for a while and on my own decided I no longer needed them. This was in 10th grade. I just on my own said, "I don't feel like wearing them anymore, so I won't." I never had a problem with my eyes again! My eyes are fine. I spend close to 6 hours a day on the computer and my eyes are still fine even with all the reading I do. I also spent about an hour a day reading a book and haven't had any problems.

It's now been 4 years since I've last worn glasses and I'm very happy to no longer need them! But now they've made the Process so much easier. You can now buy your Glasses Online You just give them your strength (you will need this from your dr.) and they ship the glasses right to your home. No more going to the optometrist every year to get new glasses. I still suggest you get your eyes checked once every couple years to make sure your strength hasn't changed, but This process is much easier.


No more sitting there for hours picking out the right pair, and then waiting for them to be made in your strength. That was a pain for me and I wish they had this feature when I was wearing glasses!

Hapari Review

We have a hot tub so I'm always in a swimsuit. I wear them all year long about 4 days a week! I get a lot of use out of a swimsuit and because I wear them so much they usually only last a year. I usually only have 2 swimsuits to wear so they don't last long.

With the Swimsuit I received from Hapari I now have 5 swimsuits for this year. That means I will probably get 2 years out of my suits this time around because they won't be worn as much!

  My birth Control causes me BAD acne!! Please look past that!

As you can see I received the Island Feve V-Neck Tankini and the Basic Brown Bottoms.

I couldn't be happier with this set. You know a cool feature is that the tie can be worn 3 ways. Halter,  through the provided loops for a regular straps OR a Criss Cross

 Very cool! I also like the little tie in the back as well, It is just that little extra. Very neat!

So I accidentally put this suit in the dryer. Happy to say nothing fell apart and it didn't shrink. AWESOME!

Every tankini has secret pockets for silicone breast inserts called "Illusions"!

 The fit is awesome! Perfect size. I ordered the Medium top and the Small bottom and it fits me perfectly.

 I like that the tankini has good coverage, the bottoms do as well, my bum doesn't hang out of them they have great coverage and make sure it's all tucked in nicely.

Slanket Review

We received the beautiful Ruby Wine Slanket for review and we love it. In fact that is an understatement. We fight over it almost every night and we will be purchasing another so we no longer have to fight and we can each have one for our nightly movie.

I love this color. It really stands out on our beige microfiber furniture. I love red as a decorating color. It's my favorite, So I was pleasantly surprised when he sent MY FAVORITE COLOR!! Well okay, green is my favorite, but red is my favorite decorating color! 

  I don't have any pictures of it in use, because one of us is using it and the other is usually watching the movie so I haven't been able to snap one yet. Oh well. Trust me it is used DAILY. Even now in this heat. We have to air on, so it's still comfy in here and we're using our blanket!

This Slanket has a very generous length of 95" WOW!! Your feet will not be popping out in this blanket. And it's very wide at 60" So 2 people can share it and trust me we have. Avery and I share it too. 

They also have one for kids!

The kids is 44" by 66" So this is a generous size as well. I'm 66" tall at 5'6" so it would just fit me. Very generous for a child I would say.

Siamese Slanket!!! AWESOME!

 We will buy a Siamese for this winter, We will probably also buy another regular slanket and possibly even a kids one for Avery.

We always thought these things were silly looking and couldn't understand the hype. Boy were we wrong. These are so much worth the hype of them!

We haven't washed this yet, so I'm not sure how it washes, but I'm sure it will withstand the pressure!

It's very thick, not a lightweight fleece like you sometimes see. It's a very thick and great material!

Price: The regular slanket is normally $38 and is now on sale for $33. Very great price. The other leading brands are cheaper, but are a lot THINNER! The kids Slanket is on sale for $22 and the Siamese is $41! These are all great prices. Get them now while they're on sale because once fall hits again, I'm sure this sale will be over!

Fashionable Clothing again! How many times have I blogged about fashionable clothing for either Children or us Adults? Probably too many to count. Anyway, Melrose Street has fashionable, boutique women's clothing. 

I received the S-Twelve Strapless Dress and I love it! I wasn't sure that I would at first, because it's short and strapless. But I really do like it!

The side there is really neat. It goes around to the back as well and it's just cool. 

Underneath the dress is a real tight slinky material, which is good because the top layer is kind of loose. So if the wind blows people won't see everything. I like this feature! I've already worn this dress once to P.F. Chang's for dinner a week or so ago and I loved it. I was comfortable despite it being shorter and tighter than I like.

I just need a nice tan to go along with it now!!

I ordered mine in a Medium per the Size Chart and as you can see it fits perfectly. I'm so happy with this dress and I can't wait to wear it more.

Melrose has so many items to choose from! They have dresses, tops, Jackets, Sweaters, and even wallets and coin bags!

Summer is coming, not quite here yet, but it's on it's way. And that means popsicle season is here!! With that in mind Jolly Llama comes in handy. They make sorbets.

We received the Mango sorbets and they are YUMMY

They have 5 different flavors. Strawberry, Blueberry, mango, Acai, and Raspberry.

I told her to send either the Mango or Acai and she sent mango. They are really good. They're a sorbet so they're soft. They're not hard to push up like a normal popsicle. They are real tasty too. What I like about them is that they are really healthy and there's not a lot of sugar in there.

The ingredients in the mango are Mango Puree, Evaporated Cane juice, filtered water, non-gmo soluble corn fiber, citric acid, Natural flavor, stabilizer (guar gum and xanthan gum), Vitamin C, and Vitamin A palmitate. 

So they are pretty healthy. And there's 22 grams of sugar in each tube. That's no more than a glass of juice. They have less sugar than other popsicles. 

They come in a pack of 4

All Jolly Llama sorbets are made from real, fully ripened, whole fruit - never concentrates or juices.  As a result each Sorbet Squeezup bursts with the delicious taste of fresh fruit and retains the rich source of nutrients that nature intended.

Avery's pants are always falling down. I've been fortunate enough lately to be able to buy her the pants with adjustable waistband, Thankfully those help, but she still has some pants and shorts without it. When she happens to wear those I'm thankful for the belts like Myself Belts.

Unfortunately this belt is too big :( But at least I know it will fit her for a while. Hopefully I can get 2 years out of it. She likes to wear it now as decoration, but it doesn't actually hold her pants up!

Like I said, She tries to wear it as often as possible!! We received it in the Medium which is meant for a 4 year old and that's why it's big. But we do like this belt.

Douglas Cuddle Toys Review & Giveaway

We have a LOT of stuffed animals, but Avery loves them so we always welcome more in our house. I originally asked for the Plush Baby Puppy but I see that they are out and instead they sent me the Doug Tan Musical Puppy and we love him! When I first got him I put him in the closet and figured I'd save him for a baby shower or something because musical is more baby. But Avery saw him one day and called him and he came right to her. It was love at first sight. She has to sleep with him every night now!

We have so man fashionable clothing and you all know about them. But this time we got a beautiful shirt from Stella Blu. We received the Swirly tee.

 I really love this tee. It's so soft. It looks vintage, and I really like that! The one thing I don't like is on the website it has that sheer rugged look to it, and it didn't come like that, so that disappointed me a little bit. But we really love it. Even Avery talks about how soft it is!

It washed well, and it didn't fade at all. We got the size 4, it's a little big, the 3 would have been better, but this will last her for a whole year and maybe then some! So I'm happy about that!

They have a bunch of other cool designs! I'm in love with all of these as well

WOW!! This is HUGE! 

We have a couple Oreck purifiers, they did AMAZING for us the first 3 1/2 years, but it was definitely time for a new purifier. They still work, but they are slowing down and getting dirtier faster and you can just tell they were dieing. 

We still have one in our bedroom, but the VERY kind folks over at Rabbit Air were very generous enough to send us the BIO GS-SPA 421A Ultra Quiet purifier! We got it in the Metallic Blue

So it is MUCH bigger than the Oreck we had. The Oreck had to sit up on a table, well on a storage bin, and this can sit right on the floor. That's awesome!

It's also very light so we can move it room to room if needed. I almost burned down the house the other day, okay not quite, but my oven was burning. I moved it into the kitchen. Put it on the turbo feature and my room was completely cleared out in 3 minutes!! If I would've just used open windows alone, it probably would've taken 20 minutes or longer. And the smell was gone in that same amount of time.

I love this purifier. It has an indicator for particles coming into the machine and an indicator for smells!! When I was clearing out smoke the smell was All the way lit up. It was stinky!

It has a lot of features on it that our Oreck didn't have. It has a timer. It has 4 speeds AND turbo. Turbo lasts 30 minutes and then shuts off. Our Oreck nly had 3 speeds. It also has a pollen mode, letting you know when there is pollen in the air. A light will come on letting you know when the machine needs to be cleaned and another light for when the filter needs to be replaced. The best part? It has a REMOTE!!! I can control it from my couch! How awesome is that!!

So to clean it, you just need a vacuum and some water. Our Oreck? It required a special cleaner which was $14 and lasted 2-4 cleanings. Well we had 2 machines, so once a month or so we were spending $14. This machine is easy to clean and once every 1.5 years the filter needs to be replaced and it is $30!!! And the Hepa Filter needs to be replaced every 3 years and it is $46. UM, WORTH IT!

So here is the Dog fur I peeled off the pre filter right before Avery's party so just over a week ago

So I'm surprised it actually wasn't DIRTY and was just dog hair filled. Bella's cage is right next to this purifier. I want it that way until she's completely out of the cage. This is bad. I'm so glad we don't have all that fur flying through the house. It collects in my kitchen enough as it is!

I'm so happy with this purifier.

And I will say since we've moved into this house over 2 years ago, I haven't dusted once. WOW!! Never needed too. 

Price: This unit that I reviewed is normally $550, but is on sale for $330. This is generous. We paid $500 for our Oreck!

Overall: ********** Most definitely the BEST product I have ever reviewed. I am so pleased with this product!

They are known for Discount online shopping! I had a chance to review anything I wanted and BOY was that tough. They have such a wide array of items, I was so overwhelmed and I ended up letting Jon pick!

Swaddle Designs Review & Giveaway

We could be a little old for soft and fuzzy blankets, but even I would love to cuddle up with this beautiful blanket from Swaddle Designs. 

I'm in love with it! 

We received the Pastel Kiwi Puff Circle Stroller Blanket and I couldn't be happier with it. It measures a generous 30" by 40" and that is awesome! Avery is 36" tall so this blanket is still nice cuddling up and watching a movie with. Avery says it's really soft and I couldn't agree more!

The satin on the edges really adds that extra oomph. It's beautiful and adds texture to the blanket which is great for infants. 

They have so many blankets to choose from! Swaddle Blankets, Security Blankets, Cozy Blankets, Burp Cloths and Bibs, They even have wearable blankets! 

Price: The blanket I received is $48 I think this is a good price. It's so soft and Avery really loves it, so it's worth it to me!

All Natural Face Review & Giveaway

I love makeup, and I love natural makeup even more. All Natural Face has Pure Vegan Mineral Cosmetics!

I received this HUGE package from them and this is what was inside!

I got 6 large eye shadows. 2 liners (in the same pots), Mascara, Brush, some samples of eye shadows and face powders as well as an eye shadow applicator!!!

I can't believe everything they sent! I'm loving the eye shadows. They don't crease up, and aren't greasy. They stay with me all day and I can easily wear them for 10 hours without reapplying. The mascara is great as well. It doesn't separate or lengthen or anything special, but I'll sacrifice that for natural mascara!! 

The brushes are easy to use and are soft on the face. I have to say I'm bad because I haven't used the gel liners yet!!

I don't even remember all the shades and colors I got, but here are some of the shadows I received

She sent me an abundance of stuff. I love all the colors she sent. The antique gold is a little weird. It's more of a browny green than gold and it's very sheer. Other than that the eye shadows have GREAT coverage and are very colorful!

Price: Eyeshadow you can now get 6 for $16, but that is on sale so right now you can get 6 eye shadows for $13.60!!! AWESOME deal! That's about $2.20 a piece... Can't beat that!

What we've been busy doing!

Here's our renovations to the home! 

Before and After of the Front yard

I did ALL this myself. Jon hardly helped. He dug the trench for the bricks. I laid the bricks, leveled them out, laid down top soil, laid down the rubber mulch. He did the rocks around the tree and that's it! We still need about 5 more bags of mulch to help fill it in more. This project cost twice what we thought it would, but it's one now and we saved about 50% by doing it ourselves, so we're happy!

Then we did the porch. This was HALF and HALF

Originally when we moved here the porch and deck were just gross. So we painted them a nice brick red. Well that faded and got ruined real fast. Plus this bottom post was all dry rotted and was flimsy. 

We rebuilt the entire railing, ALL NEW. Sanded the rest of the porch and stained it this time. It was a LOT of work. We also installed the door. It's a custom size so we had to cut 4" off the door. We were quoted $580 to have it installed and special ordered. We bought a standard door from Home Depot for $140, bought a $30 saw and did it ourselves. Saved a BUNCH of money. 

We also replaced the lights! and we added the flowers.

 Just have to put in grass seed. Instead of the original $100 on that bird bath we got it on clearance for just $18!!!!!!

We also put new lights on the back of the house! And We have to rebuild the deck as well as sand it and stain it!

That's what we've been busy doing the last couple weeks. 

Oh we also did the same type of landscaping on the side surrounding a small bush and surrounding the street light as well.

I'm engaged as most of you know, I Proposed on Christmas Morning. I have NO IDEA when I'm getting married, but I thought I'd contact Girl Extraordinaire and they said yes! I was so excited. I had no idea what they were sending so I was SO SURPRISED when I opened my package to find all this!

 I told her I liked Bride and Birthday Girl (My birthday is the 29th) and She also sent me the tote and the bridesmaid!! How awesome of Tiffany!

These run SUPER SUPER small. I didn't specify a size and she sent me L and XL and they fit me very well. I'm a Small/Medium normally. So I would honestly order VERY large. That's the only downfall I have found. The rhinestones on my bride tank have withheld 4 washings already! Yes I love it that much!! 

Birthday girl will only be worn the week of my birthday, but I LOVE it and I love the pins it came with. I like that you can switch them out. They're not pinned through the shirt, just around the strap, So there's no holes in the strap itself. Very pretty. 

I can't wait to use my tote. And I don't think I'll use the Bridesmaid tank as we aren't having any, so I'll either give it away to someone I know is a bridesmaid. Or save it in hopes I'll be one someday :)HINT, HINT!

Thankfully because they're so small already, my tank didn't shrink in the wash, so that's a plus!

I have no idea how much these items are!
