2017 RAV4 Platinum AWD

2017 Toyota RAV4 Platinum Review

The 2017 Toyota RAV4 Platinum is absolutely perfect for anyone wanting an SUV that gets decent gas mileage, seats 5 and is perfect for traveling. I loved the RAV4 I recently had for a week.

The Toyota RAV4 Platinum gets 22/28 MPG, with an average of 24. I think this is very good for an SUV.

The Toyota has a lot of nice features in it.
On top of being a 5 seater.  It has a lovely set up.
The whole radio is touch screen. It also has navigation and satellite radio.

I love the backup camera with bird's eye view camera. This allows you to see the whole vehicle as you're in reverse. And it also has a surrounding alert if you're close to an object, in this case, it was my house! I like that it shows which corner is closest to an object and this happens in drive. So you're protected whether driving or backing up.

Besides the glovebox, it also has this little open compartment above it. Perfect for a passengers phone!

Lots of leg room

The rear seats have a pull down cupholder/armrest as well as the seats recline!!! You hardly ever see that in a vehicle in the very rear row! I loved this little feature.

The trunk space was huge on the RAV4 and even more so once you fold down the rear seats. Perfect for traveling/luggage/strollers/etc.

This Toyota RAV4 Platinum has the push start. As long as the keys are in the car you push the brake and then push the button to start the car. I have been loving this feature on a lot of the cars I've test drove.

This Toyota RAV4 Platinum features an 8 way power driver's seat with power and lumbar support.

This vehicle definitely has it all in style and comfort. And also in safety. It is a 4 star rating on Frontal Crash and 5 star on side crash, 4 star rollover and a 5 star rating overall from the NHTSA.

This includes the Standard Toyota Safety Sense which has a Pre Collision System as well as pedestrian detection, and it had my favorite feature, the Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, if your cruise control is set to a certain speed and the car in front of you is going slower, it automatically slows you to match their speed (and keep a reasonable distance between you). I never have to touch my accelerator/brake on the highway due to this feature.

This vehicle that I test drove came in at $37,180. It is a bit pricey, but for having the crash rating it does, I think it's definitely worth it. The Toyota RAV4 LE also has a base price of just $24,410, so definitely more affordable if you don't need all the bells and whistles. The Platinum is their top model and has a base price of $34,470.

*Disclaimer, I received a Toyota RAV4 Platinum for a 1 week test drive. All opinions here are 100% my own and I was not compensated to write this post, other than receiving the vehicle.

I'm set to review this in December, but will be driving 2 people to the airport ... and they have a lot of luggage (about 2 big bags + 2 medium-sized ones). Do you think the trunk would fit all of it?

(I'm guessing we can flip back one of the 2nd row chairs if needed, too?)

This is what I really want, but it is too pricey. I love all the features on it though.
