Changing More Than Just Your Shoes

Have you had some sleepless nights that lead to grumpy days? Did you know that changing from your work shoes, casual shoes or slippers into a pair of running shoes and taking off on a new adventure could lead to a better night's sleep and a more pleasant morning?

If you’ve been using a packed schedule as an excuse to avoid getting into a running routine, you’re not being as kind to yourself as you should be. A hectic schedule is often a contributing factor to stress. Stress often interferes with sleep. By getting up a little earlier each morning or curtailing your afternoon or evening commitments in order to work in a short run each day, you can reduce your stress level and improve your sleep. Studies show that a daily run, regardless of the time of day it occurs is beneficial in many ways.

When you get a sufficient amount of sleep, you feel better physically and are generally in a better mood. When you’re having a bad day, studies indicate that running can improve your mood. After a good run, you may feel more positive and more focused.

If running is a new adventure for you, there are a few things you need to know. Running is beneficial to your health in a variety of ways. It can be effective in lowering your blood pressure. It also reduces your chances of experiencing cardiovascular disease. Ultimately, establishing a consistent running routine can add years to your life. You don’t have to run marathons to get these benefits. Just a ten minute run is quite beneficial.

It’s essential that you invest in a good quality running shoe, such as womens saucony
before you start running. You will need a running shoe that offers the support and impact resistance that you need to protect your feet while you improve your sleep pattern, your mood and your health.

It’s advisable to check with your doctor before beginning any type of new exercise routine. Once you’ve been given the okay to start running, don’t procrastinate about it. Change into your running shoes at whatever time fits into your schedule and get going on that short or long run and enjoy all of the benefits it provides.

I enjoyed the way you phrased this post. Just changing your shoes, it was fun and might be just the thing to get someone started on a new journey of running! I have bad knees and fibro, I wish I could run!!

Exercise always makes me feel better and getting outside and seeing nature and running gives me endorphin's that put me in a good mood and help me sleep at night! I need to get out there today and exercise.

I always have way more comfy sneakers then anything, of course i wear heels, wedges, boots, and such, but there is nothing like investing in a great pair of shoes. Especially if you run, exercise, walk, or are on your feet for most of the day. I make sure to exercise a few times a week, and even run on weekends with my sisters. Great way to release stress from the week and helps with getting a good nights rest.

I have back and hip issues that won't let me run, but I do take walks daily in the spring, summer and fall. It definitely helps with my energy levels and helps me sleep better at nnight.
