Making Myself Better!



I'm on the track to making myself healthier and better again.
I did this about 8 months after my 2 year old was born. I lost 17.5 pounds in 8 weeks WITHOUT exercise.
This time around I'm exercising, watching what I eat, cutting back portions and adding in some juicing. I'm hoping that I'll be on the way to a healthier me and losing some of the weight.

I have about 14 pounds to go to be pre pregnancy so that's my main goal, but also toning up and gaining some muscle.

I'm doing the Couch to 5k program right now to get back into running. I'm 1 week in. After that is complete I'll work on a 10k program.

I'm juicing, more for fun, but to replace my unhealthy snacks I was having during the day. I've been having 1-2 glasses a day. SO yummy and good for you! Cucumbers yield a LOT of juice and are really yummy in juice. Carrots same thing. They're also both really cheap so perfect for juicing. I also do a lot of apples and oranges as well, and thawed frozen berries aren't bad.

Cutting back portions isn't too difficult since I'm snacking often and doing the juicing as my snacks, so this one isn't too hard and I'm not a crazy stickler for it.

I'm watching what I eat to an extent. I'm not going crazy but am allowing myself some cruddy foods every couple days. This week was ice cream, but my daughter turns 7 on Friday and I'll have cake then! But I'm cooking healthier and cutting WAY back on carbs. Dinners are a meat and lots of veggies.

Getting into running again has been SO much fun. I ran track in high school, but was a sprinter, so long distance is all new to me. But I know it will get me back in GREAT shape!

That's great that you are getting back into running! I used to love running, but only walked/sprinted last year. Several million steps on my Fitbit, but mostly walking. I am just getting back into it with the Zombies Run! app.

I've never heard of a Couch to 5K program before, but I just downloaded the app for my iPhone. Now I just have to get off my butt and start it. Trying to do it with my toddler is going to be a bit of a challenge.
