Kaz Honeywell Review & Giveaway

I received a sample from Honeywell for the sole purpose of this review

This winter we have decided to mainly use space heaters and turn down our heat significantly. My son already had one in his room and we bought a small one for our room and our daughter's room. What was left was a nice big one for the living area. So I contacted Honeywell and they agreed to send me their newest model.
The MyEnergySmart Infrared Heater. Meant for an extra large space it was perfect for our open floor plan.

It has a very long cord and 2 prongs that you wrap the cord around as well to keep it neat and tidy
Has a really nice carrying handle
 and a remote
I promise it was not 52 in my house when I plugged this in. It took about 5 minutes to register the real temp in here of 63.
I set it on 66 and my whole living area (a very big open space probably a good 800 sq ft or so) was heated up in a total of 20 minutes. I think that's a very efficient heater!

It has a power button, the temp it is now and the temp you want it to be. You can set a timer from 1-8 hours. It also adjusts to low heat, medium heat and then high heat which uses different watts for more efficiency.
It also has the MyTemp so that 2 people can set it to their favorite setting and make it easy to navigate. Hold down a number for 3 seconds and it saves the current setting. When you turn on the heat, just push that number and it will automatically adjust.
There's also an energy usage indicator which is nice.
The infrared heating element is tucked back in the heater. The front is cool touch so kids and pets won't get burnt.

My favorite feature is that it's on castor wheels. Makes it really easy to rotate or move from room to room.

It has a 4 way tip over as well so if it gets tipped over, it automatically turns off. Using this space heater can save you up to 35% on your heating bills.
Our home is very inefficient. We live in a mobile home and with holes underneath and vents that aren't even hooked up all the way, it only made sense to stop running the heater and switch to space heaters.
While our electric bill is sure to go up, our gas bill should come down significantly and we should save some money.

It's also a full cool touch unit. Nothing on this unit gets hot enough to burn, so again, super safe around pets and kids.

Although this unit is a bit large at 18" by 15.75" by 18.5" it does it's job well and will hopefully help us save money.
We use this one in the living area during the day and then at night we use the space heaters in our bedrooms.
We have our heat set on 62 to help keep our pipes from freezing and for the kitties at night as well.
Although the heat does run a bit at night, it's not nearly as much as if we had our heat on the normal 66.  And it doesn't run during the day at all. Our heater is not energy star and it is 15-16 years old, so it definitely costs a pretty penny every time we run it.

I'm hoping to see a bit money saved on our next bill.

Honeywell is definitely known for their heaters and they have a heater for each of your needs. From small rooms to extra large ones, you can find one that fits your lifestyle.

Price: This model is $229.99 but it is truly worth it.

Overall: *****
*Disclaimer* I received an item directly from Honeywell in exchange for a review. I was not paid to try out these products*
A big thank you goes out to Honeywell for allowing me to review this product and for offering a giveaway

Instead of using the furnace to heat the whole house I would just heat the room I am in.

Laura said...

I to live in a mobile home and know the high cost of heating it, I also use space heaters, one of which is the older metal type and really need to upgrade to an infrared type for my living area...

The rooms in the back of house-my living room and my office are the coldest as they are far from the sunlight rooms in the front so I often need a little extra heat especially in my office.

I will chain it to my ankle and drag it in whatever room I'm in. Our apartment needs new windows. So cold.

Id use this in our family bedroom.

Unknown said...

We purchased our house but realized later it didn't have a wrap around the siding OR enough attic insulation. We would totally use this in the bedroom, which gets very cold. During this "polar vortex" the furnace ran 24/7 and it would get over 60 degrees F in the room.

I'd use it to heat the garage when I am working out there. I use the garage as my craft room and exercise room.

My house does not heat properly. The bedrooms heat up to 80 degrees and leaves the lower levels of our house 60. I would use this heater to heat my lower part of my house!

My apartment can be so chilly. My heat is included in my rent but I don't have the thermostat. There is one for all eleven apartments. It's in the apartment across the hall from me and if he bakes the heat won't kick in. I would use this to warm my apartment for when I have the kids here.

My teenage daughters have a living room in the basement and since we keep the fireplace going when it's cold they don't get much heat down there. I'd let them use this to keep warm, it would help so much!

I would use it in our bathroom. We have no ac/heating vent in there so it's always either hot (which we remedy by leaving the door to our bedroom open so the cold air goes in there) or cold (if we leave the door open then our bedroom is cold too! LOL).

I give this to my parents the house they are renting is terrible. The wind goes right through the windows (they had to put plastic over the windows just to make it livable) and it has little to no insulation, their house is like living in a fridge and their electric bill is sickening how high it is.
