2014 Kia Sorento Review

Are you vehicle shopping before the holiday trips? Are you looking for a family friendly crossover? The 2014 Kia Sorento may just be the right one for you.

With an MPG of 20/26 the 2014 Kia Sorento is the way to go for a crossover.

For my test drive I received the 2014 Kia Sorento SX All Wheel Drive.
Living here in MI, it's important to have the all wheel drive with the harsh winters we have.

The steering wheel has mounted controls to make driving easier.
The center console/dash is really nice and sleek looking. I love the time displayed up on top, makes it so your eyes don't gravitate away from the windshield area as much.
 Touch screen with sirius radio
It also had navigation which was really easy to navigate as well.

Features like the double panoramic sunroof
and the rear cupholders, made driving this crossover a breeze.

The Kia Sorento is a 7 seater. With 2 in the front, 3 in the middle and 2 in the rear, it's large enough for all your family and friends.
3 seater in the middle
Leg room in the second row.
The second row has a handle and it slides the seat forward and flips the front down for easy access to the third row.
I was surprised by the leg room in the 3rd row. Maybe not enough for a full grown adult, but plenty of room for a child.

My favorite part was the cargo space though
This is with the 3rd row up and in the seating position
There is a jack in the trunk, but there's also some storage room in there as well.
This is with the 3rd row down. There is a lot of storage room back there.

I also really liked that the rear doors had a screen over them to block out sun

Overall if you're looking for an affordable, fuel efficient crossover, then the Kia Sorento may be the right one for you. I would recommend this vehicle to anybody. It was a dream to drive and is really safe as well. It has Front Active Headrests, Advanced Airbag System and  a reinforced body to ensure you're safe on the road. It also features Electronic Stability Control to help keep you on course and Hill Assist Control to prevent it from rolling backwards if you stop on a steep hill.

With a retail price starting at $24,100 this vehicle is definitely affordable.

*Disclaimer, I received a Kia Sorento for a 1 week test drive. All opinions here are 100% my own and I was not compensated to write this post, other than receiving the vehicle.

This sounds like a great family car! We have 2 kids and 1 on the way, we've been looking to upgrade. I love that the seat goes down for extra storage, thats definitely handy. Thanks for the awesome review, we'll definitely be looking into it:)

Nice looking car. Your lucky you got to review it.

I really like the 3rd row seat option. When your driving around your children and their friends, this is a must! Also, the gas mileage isn't bad for an SUV.

What a gorgeous car! The dual sunroof is awesome, and I love that big touch screen.

Wowza! I want that touch screen!!!

This Kia looks like a great family car! I like that it can seat 7 people and that it has a lot of storage space when the rear seats are folded down.

I wish I had looked at this car before I bought my mini van. The mini van is such a pain to drive (so big!). I think I would feel much more comfortable in a Kia Sorento.

We have a Kia Soul and love it..It makes a very comfy ride on long trips and this one looks nice also :)

I'm kind of loving the double panoramic sunroof. We've been considering a Sorento for our next vehicle - we're a family of 6, so we need enough seating for everyone, but we want the special mommy and daddy features too!

Thanks for the great review!

I am impressed with how far Kia has come in their car production. The Sorento sounds great.

Kia's used to be a bit of a joke with people, but they've come a long way. Nice review!

Kimberly said...

Kia's have really come up in the world!

Oh that looks so nice! I got a Kia Sedona minivan back in 2005 and you know....I have not had to take it to the shop yet for repairs! Just stuff like breaks and tires! I will probably look to trade some point down the road...this might be a great option for me for a change! I WILL buy another Kia for sure!

Unknown said...

Good Review! thanks .

I need the space that this has! When we are in the market for another vehicle this will most likely be our next car :)

At first i was thinking that is a great car, but what a small trunk and its gonna be a pain to have to remove the seats...but wait they fold! How wonderful. I also really like that the emergency button is easy to find the screen. I always try to recall where it is on my Tucson, just in case, this is clear here.

we will be in the market in a couple of months bc we have a third child on the way! this car would be great! im surprised of how good it was!

For an inexpensive, non-luxury car, the Kia looks great! It has style and great options.

Betty Roberts said...

Wow looks roomy! and i like the double panoramic sun roof!!!

That's a huge sun roof! I like the rear sun shades too.

Robichaux said...

This vehicle is nice, but I'm left wondering if the space in the back of the car when the third row is up is enough to store a stroller for mall runs and zoo visits with kids.

Great car, perfect for my growing family :)

I am passing this on to my Mom. She needs a larger car to accommodate my family of 5 when we visit for the summer and for all of her gardening supplies. This seems like such a great fit!

I love the Kia Sorrento, looks so nice and I am sure it rides like a dream. I am driving now a 2006 Toyota that needs to keep running for at least another 5 years. That is how long I need to save to get another newer car.

Kimberly said...

We'd never really considered a Kia before, now I may!

i have a kia sorento and i love it. i love all the upgraded features!

It seems very modern. I've always liked Kias.

thats pretty cool. i hope they get one in a 8 seater.

Puddles and Poop said...

I love the sunroof! This is the kind of car I always wanted to have. However, I am pregnant with baby #3 and I am not sure if it would fit all of the seats we need. I still love it though!

We have an older Kia Sorento but it still drives great. However, the new Sorento appears to have a lot more room and some great new features. Great vehicle.
