Day #34, Since it's the 4th, we have a 'free' day!!
I have no idea what to post on my free day!!
It's been nice this weekend because Jon had Sat, Sun, and Mon off (like every week), Then he had today off, because of the 4th, he took yesterday off too. So he only has a 2 day work week this week! So that's nice!
Yesterday we went to consult with a Child Psychologist for Avery. I've mentioned some of the issues we were having here in the past. Well she has Bipolar and/or ADHD. But he said it's extreme for ADHD.
Next week we'll bring back our questionnaires and he'll give an official diagnosis.
He gave us some tools and alternative methods to try and calm her down. If these don't work, in about a month he said we'll start taking medication. In my opinion, if it's Bipolar she will need meds. Nothing can fix it besides medication.
I'm sad, but I know it's for the best to have a diagnosis. Especially before she starts Kindergarten.

My son has autism. We didn't know until first grade. I wish I had known sooner, especially before he started school.
I'll send some extra love to you and your family...as you are getting your answers and helping your precious little girl.

Both my daughters have special needs. Getting the diagnosis for both of them was difficult to hear. That being said, having a "label" makes finding appropriate strategies to help them succeed much easier.
There was a period of sadness and grieving each time there was a new diagnosis (my younger daughter just recently was tested again and two learning disabilities were discovered...on top of what she's already dealing with).
That's good that you found out before school begins so there's an adjustment period at home for your daughter and entire family.
