Just For Baby Event Sponsor Spotlight FRESH BABY

I have been making a lot of Emerson's food. With Avery I was on WIC and never even thought to make my own, but they provided more than enough anyway.
But with Emerson I knew I wanted to make my own food before I even got pregnant. I knew that it was healthier and easy and that it was a lot cheaper.

So when the time came to make his own food I realized I had no storage options. We don't even have a regular ice cube tray. So I contacted Fresh Baby for their storage options and they promptly sent me their So Easy Baby Food Kit and the Portion Storage Bags

Trays with lids, CD and Recipe Book
How they're set up.
Each section is by baby's age. This is the first foods (6 months) section. It shows you the item and then below makes suggestions of things you can add to it. It also gives cooking instructions.
This is the 6-8 months section

The trays are really easy to use. Just puree your food, pour it in, put the lid on and freeze. You can leave the food in there until ready or you can pop them out once fully frozen (over night is typically good) and store in ziploc bags. These are easy to use as cubes. When you're ready to use put 1-2 in a bowl and put in fridge. Once thawed serve to baby!

Each cube is 1oz so it makes it easy to know how much baby gets. Emerson typically eats 3-4oz at a serving, so he gets 3-4 cubes. Usually I'll give him 3 and then a snack.

I love the recipe book. Not that long ago I made us black beans and broccoli as side dishes to a meal. When there were leftovers I thought about what I could mix them with for Emerson. I looked in the book. Black Beans said 10+ months, but I didn't think they could hurt him. So I pureed them with sweet potatoes and they're actually one of Emerson's favorite foods.
The broccoli I mixed with Pears. He's not a fan of broccoli though because of the texture.

So I've been using this book as a reference.

The storage bags are easy to use too. Just pour your food in, zip closed and freeze. This is also great for adult items too. 1 meal portions, soup etc. So it's great for multiple uses. When ready to use just thaw out and pour into bowl and feed to baby.

These items have been a real life saver! I use those trays every time I make a new batch of food! Love them. and when I'm done with them I can use as regular ice cube trays. They'll be great for making colored ice cubes for Avery!!!

Price: 50 bags are $13.95 and the Kit is $37.95

Overall: *****

This would have been super handy when we were doing purees. I was using an ice cube tray with rather sad success. I'll have to remember these for next time!

This looks like a good system. We'll be doing food in a couple months.
