All Things Baby Blog Bash Spotlight: Woombie & Review

I always swaddled Avery until she was close to 3 months old. But she would kick and flap and get it undone. It was a pain re wrapping her multiple times a day.
She had colic though and Acid Reflux and I know this Woombie would have been amazing!!

We received the Organic Woombie in Au' Naturale in the Newborn 5-13 pound size.
I think it looks like a little peanut!
Love the double zipper, makes for easy diaper changes!
Cross baby's arms in front and zip them up.
 Easy Changes!!!
I love this Woombie. It's so stretchy that it will fit until a couple months old. It allows some movement in there, but not enough to activate the startle reflex. And baby can't kick it off!! It's in place for good!

It's the perfect size for a newborn though. I've heard from others that it's a total godsend. I can't wait to find out for sure. If it is I'll probably buy more in the larger sizes.
This will definitely be put in the hospital bag and will be used immediately after birth for number 2!!

They come in 4 different sizes. Preemie, Newborn, Big Baby and Mega Baby. All the way from 3-25 pounds!! So you're all set!

There are also numerous styles to choose from. There's original (lots of color choice) Organic, Deluxe which has ruffles!! Summer which is thin. XL which is 1" wider for broad shoulders. and LOTS LOTS more!!!

Price: The Organic is $27.99 and the original $25.99 I hear it's completely worth every penny!

Overall: ***** I love the material and I'm sure it would work great.

Lime Ricki Review, Discount Code & Giveaway *CLOSED*

You might remember my review on Lime Ricki last year! I reviewed the beautiful Jennie Tankini Top and the Pink Bottom.

This time I wasn't sent anything for review, but I can tell you about the quality of the Lime Ricki Swimsuit and how it has held up. I did that review last May. It has been worn hundreds of times wince then. We have a hot tub so I wear suits all year long. Hot tub in winter is the BEST time. So this suit has held up to lots of wears and lots of washes. It still looks brand new and it has held up beautifully.

Sometimes suits get that prickly butt (for lack of a better term) when the bum gets caught on stuff well not this suit. I've worn this to my friend's pool and sat on the concrete walkway around the pool and it's been just fine! I'm so happy with it! I will probably purchase another Lime Ricki one day. Maybe I'll even purchase a Maternity suit for this summer if I'll need one.

Check out the new 2011 styles!!!

They even have MENS Coming soon!
Maternity
and Girls
Lots to choose from!
And at great prices too.
Code HandA will give you 10% off through May 14th

Price: The girls one piece is $40. The tankini top is $24 and the bottoms are $17.50.
The Maternity suits are $46 for top and $26 for bottom. Women's One Piece $60 and Tankinis are about $40 and bottoms are $26 for Brief! AWESOME prices I think!

Overall: ***** It has held up great! I love it!

Chicken Soup: New Moms Review & Giveaway*CLOSED*

Avery was born May 9th 2007 (yes just over a week until she's 4!) And Mother's Day was May 13th 2007. Jon bought me the Chicken Soup for the Soul: New Moms Book! It was perfect timing and it was a great thoughtful gift from him.

I really enjoyed reading that book and it was awesome to read stories of other new mother's and go through what they were going through. I read this book in about a week (I was also in school and raising a newborn and a housewife! WHEW) So it took a little bit of time to read it. A few weeks later I would go "so this is what those moms were talking about" when something happened. I found myself always looking back in the book and reading the stories and how they coped with things.

It was truly inspriational.
Here's the copy I had first

I LOVE that this book came at a great time in my life. I had the 2007 edition with Avery and just a few days after getting this book found out I was expecting #2. So it came at a great time. I'll put it on a bookshelf and read it shortly before/after baby's born.

I haven't read through it at all, but I'm sure there's a bunch of new stories in there and whether you're a BRAND new mom or a New Mom for the third time, Everyone can get something out of this book.

You also might recognize the editor on there Susan M. Heim?!?! NO? She's a fellow blogger. You can find her here Susan Heim on Parenting. How awesome?? I know she reads my blog, hope she sees this shout out!

Price: You can find this book for $9.13 at Walmart or $10.17 at Amazon! It's cheap and Mother's day is coming up. It would be a great gift!!

Overall: *****

New Name!!!

I want help with all of you on a new name.
I know this is SUPER early, but I wanted to get my thoughts out there now, before I forgot them.

I don't want to keep my name. Jon thinks this is his last, so I  don't want to be counting anymore. I still would like a 3rd eventually, but I want a more permanent name that could still grow.

Here are my thoughts!!

Mommy Of 2 Crazy Monkeys
URL: crazy-monkeys.net (it would send you to the new domain)

Mommy Of 2 Little Monkeys
URL: mommyslittlemonkeys.com (again it would send you over)

Mommy Of 2 and Crazy
URL: crazy-mommy.com (Again it would redirect you)

So these can all be updated, but the URL can stay the same!

What are your thoughts?

I think I like the Mommy Of 2 Little Monkeys best. It doesn't have crazy in it and just fits the family as it would be.

So I just looked, Mommy Of TWO Little Monkeys is taken and the URL is the full blog name. But I'm wondering if I could still do it with my half name. I don't know. Or I could do Mom Of 2 Little Monkeys. OR Mommy Of 2 Monkeys

Seasons UV Review & Giveaway *CLOSED*

I always try and protect Avery when we go out in the sun for a long period of tie. You always jump to sunscreen, but if they're swimming or sweating it needs to be reapplied. When I found UV protective clothing I was in heaven. You can get long sleeves or short and they protect your kids skin with no need for sunscreen.

We received a few things from Seasons UV for review. Avery got an adorable set and I got a shirt too!!

She got the Graffiti Love S/S Solar Guard and the matching Graffiti Love Boyleg and she also included the Brim Hat which is reversible from Fuschia to Orange. AND I received the Women Hot Pink S/S shirt. They also included lots of samples of sunscreen!

The shorts are HUGE on her. They probably won't fit until she's like 7-8! BUT I can pink them or we can just go without them for a while. Even the top is a bit big for a 4yY. But we love them just the same and the shirt is fully functional. The bottoms fall right down though!

I love my shirt. Got it in a Small and it fits me great! It's so cute too, perfect for walking at the zoo or going to the beach. It's a great coverup if you're at an outdoor pool too.
Did you know that the UPF of a cotton t-shirt is about a 5?? Would you consider putting SPF 5 on your children? NO, they need Protective Clothing.

Seasons UV clothes are an UPF 50.

Lots of others to choose from too. There's boys, girl and women's as well. They also have hats and Sunglasses

Price: The women's top is $48. The girls top was $28 and the hat is $19. They are reasonably priced. They'll last a long time and if you size them right you'll probably get 2 years out of the kids ones.

Overall: ***** Love them, can't wait for them to get some use!
Code SUNSMARTY will give you 20% off

Tropical Traditions Review & Giveaway *CLOSED*

That's right! Another item from the infamous Tropical Traditions. This time we received Coconut Peanut Butter.

I have to admit, this is one product we've received from Tropical Traditions that I'm not so happy with. The consistency is okay, but the taste isn't that great. I like my peanut butter to taste like you know... Peanuts. This tastes like coconut.
And the consistency is kind of hard to spread thanks for the coconut oil that hardens in cooler temps. We keep our house at 65-70, so it gets hard.

BUT Avery has been eating it. I stick to my homemade peanut butter, but she likes it!

They do come in glass jars though and it is healthier then regular peanut butter because of the coconut oil AND that the Oil and Peanuts are the only 2 ingredients. It's also organic. Other than that, I wasn't too happy!!

Price: 16oz jar is $9.99 down from $14.99 and the 26oz is $15.45 down from $24.35

Overall: *** for effort!! If someone likes coconut they would like this. We're just not a huge coconut family.

GIVEAWAY
Tropical Traditions has offered one Mommy Of 1 and Counting reader the chance to win the same 16oz Coconut Peanut Butter I reviewed.

5 Cheap and Unique Vacation Ideas

If you want to get away, you usually have to pay a pretty penny. But vacations don’t have to be expensive, and if you do things right, you can have a fun and unique vacation that everyone will remember. Here are some things you can try if you want to make your own path:
  1.   The More the Merrier – Make your vacation into a family reunion of sorts. When you have your extended family participate in your vacation, you can get group rates on practically anything. Group vacations allow you to get better rates on things like plane tickets, hotels, meals, transportation, museums, entertainment avenues and more. If you don’t fancy spending time with your long lost cousins, invite a few of your closest friends and their families. If you have children, they will enjoy having playmates, and you can also have some other adults to talk with and relax
  2.       Stay and Play – One of the most expensive things about vacationing is the travel fees and accommodation costs. Consider having a vacation in your home city. In order to keep things from returning to their normal routine, make sure you plan out an itinerary and research things as if you had never experienced them before. It’s usually easier to find discounts in your home area, and at the end of a long day, you can return to your own bed.
  3. 1.      Become a Lighthouse Keeper –Many coastal states allow you to experience the life of a lighthouse keeper, either for a small fee or free when you handle some of the duties. Some of these lighthouses have been converted to bed and breakfasts, but some of them give you free accommodations if you handle small tasks like light maintenance or guiding tours. If this is your thing, look to see whether the area you are interested in requires membership in the local lighthouse association.

  4. 1.      House Swap–There are several services that let you put your house up for a swap. Rather than staying in a hotel, you swap houses with another vacationer, which helps you save money and delivers the comforts of home.

  5. 1.      Volunteer–Take a vacation where you will be helping build homes, teaching a language, helping at an orphanage or something else entirely. This gives you something to do that you can feel good about, plus, you won’t be spending any extra money on entertainment. Usually a volunteer vacation is cheaper than others, but you will still be expected to pay your own travel fees to get to the new destination.

Deals at Target and JCPenney

Deals on baby clothes are ridiculously cheap right now.

I got all these from JCPenney yesterday.
2 packs of sleepers

4 piece set, Sleeper, Onesie, Hat and Bib

Price on ALL of these? $4.37 each!!!
Then at Target I got these couple things!!
3pc Rock Star Outfit was $3.74 and the 2 onesies were $3.24

These are all boyish (except that 4 piece set) I know. BUT if I don't have a boy I have a friend due in September with a boy! That's the ONLY reason I bought these. I also have a friend due in October. If she's having a boy she can get some of these too. So it worked out nicely. Those prices were ALL AWESOME!! The Target were 75% off and the JCPenney were about 80% off.

Dolce Baci Review & Giveaway

Boutique clothing is truly the best. It's handmade and took a lot of time. Usually made in the U.S. too!
So when I had a chance to review Dolce Baci clothing I was in heaven!

I couldn't choose between 3 sets for Avery. I was so torn between them. I told her the 3 I liked and told her to send whichever one she wanted.

We received the Chloe Tee and the matching Chloe Skirt.
It came wrapped so nicely!

How cute is she in this outfit?!?!? And she's ALL MINE!!!
I love it. I think it looks cute with those leggings on in cooler weather too.

The skirt was big (as usual) but we pinned it and now it fits. I think this is so adorable. The quality is great too. The skirt is sewn with 2 different fabrics. Then they cut out a flower and attached it to the shirt to make them match.

Super adorable!
These were the other 2 contenders
Super adorable! All of them

Dolce Baci has lots of other things to choose from. They have the tops, skirts, dresses, bottoms and even a women's section!!

Price: The Skirts are $42 and come in a 12-18 to a 6. The shirts change, but the one I got is $22 on sale right now down from $30. I think these are good prices.

Overall: ***** Great quality

Tea Collection Review

We get a new outfit from Tea Collection every season and I LOVE it!!!

I love their clothes. They come out with so many new cute ones each season and it's so hard to choose favorites.
I was sent the Cargo Gypsy Pants and the Scribble Dot Top for review.
Both in a size 4

Just a little bit big. The shirt falls off shoulder a bit and capris are a bit long.

But the capris fit in the waist and that's usually where we have issues. Avery's waist is only a 20" so pants are usually very big on her. I was pleased that these fit so well.

They are a bit long, but she'll wear them until September and I'm sure they'll fit much better then. She's worn this outfit twice already. We've had a couple nice 60-70 degree days and the weather has been perfect.

She got a compliment on the shirt. I think it's just adorable. Usually I choose pink/purple for Avery, this was so different and I just loved it!!

Some other favorites for Summer
BOYS
Women
Baby
They just have adorable stuff!!

Price: The Scribble Dot Top is on sale for $29.50 from $39 and the Cargo Gypsy Pants are $35. I like these prices. I don't normally pay this for Avery's clothes, but it's good to have some good high quality items in the closet. And these are well worth the price!!

Overall: another ***** Nothing but the best for Tea!
*Disclaimer* I received an item directly from the company in exchange for a review. I was not paid to try out these products*
