I was contacted by Phix energy to try out their natural energy drink mixes. I figured it was natural so why not. Jon likes to do energy stuff once in a while so I got them with him in mind.
There were 6 packets in there. 3 flavors. Teaberry, Citron, and Tropic. I'm allergic to pineapple so I wanted to give one a shot and tried the teaberry. I figured they're natural so they won't affect me negatively.
I got one sip in and dumped it. The taste was TERRIBLE to me, but I'm not an energy drink drinker. They aren't my thing at all. I don't need energy so don't drink them. However Jon downed a tropic and the teaberry and said it was good.
Maybe it's because I tried it earlier on in my pregnancy, although I had no other food aversions, but maybe that's why? I don't know. I just didn't like it. I guess if you're used to energy drinks then these would be good for you.
The sleep one was pretty good. It tasted like tea to me.
I will say that neither of them had a gritty taste or anything. The mix dissolved very nicely in water.
They are made with a ton of vitamins and then cane juices, fruit and vegetable juices and natural flavors. The sleep just has added chamomile which makes you sleepy.
Price: $9.95 for the 5 pack. Which is pretty decent considering some of those energy drink prices.

An herbal formula containing lemon balm was judged to be equivalent to a common sleep medication in terms of efficacy, but unlike medication it caused no hangover effect the following morning. Lemon balm also exerts its calming effect, at least in part, through modulation of the GABA neurotransmitter pathway.
