Portable Pediatrician Review

Although I don't always agree with a Pediatrician's ways, I think it's nice to have a book on hand for when you have questions you want answered.

I think this book really has it all! It's alphabetized with every symptom, disorder and side effect you can think of. I mean honestly.
I received a copy of this book for review. It was written by the Sears family. William Sears wrote the main book on Attachment Parenting. He put a lot of those practices into play. His wife, Martha Sears is an RN. They have 3 sons that are also MDs. They also have the VERY popular Ask Dr. Sears website. William Sears is the author/co-author of over 30 books!!

What does it tell you when you meet a family that is so successful? They must know what they're talking about in writing this book.

It has everything you could think of, including, but not limited too
teething; sprains and broken bones; nosebleeds; measles; ear infections; choking; rashes; colic; headaches; eating disorders; fever; hip pain; warts; allergies; obesity; seizures; Asperger's Syndrome; bronchitis; masturbation; sunburns; pneumonia; speech delay; lice; vomiting; asthma; heart defects; blisters; sleep problems; and more.

That's something else huh?

I know recently we have been on the fence with getting Avery into the dr. She exhibits some symptoms of Autism, and some of Sensory Processing Disorder. I looked them up in this book. She has not one sign of Autism (according to the book) she has a few of Sensory Processing Disorder, but she exhibits the first 5 symptoms of Asperger's. But I've seen children with asperger's and she doesn't act anything like them.
We are going to get her in soon, but this really set my mind at ease with Autism and SPD (I know asperger's is still autism).

Anything you could think of is in this book.

What do you do when your child wakes up at 3AM sick? If they were really sick you'd call the on call nurse or the hospital. Well now you can look up their symptoms in this book, set your mind at ease and how to fix it and you can all go back to sleep. Isn't that nice?

Price: This book as a paperback is $14.95 on Amazon right now, which is pretty awesome!

Overall: ***** I love that we have this book on hand for when we might need it. And I can look through it for fun just to see symptoms of certain things.
